New language for this page

[edit]

{{request edit}}

Hi, my name is Chris and I work for the American Action Network. The organization's page here isn't in very good shape and is largely a list of individuals associated with the organization. To make the page better, I've been working with advisors who are knowledgeable about Wikipedia to develop new language. This request is for editors to read the version I've prepared and hopefully use it to replace the current page. I think the language I've provided, which is uploaded here, significantly improves on the existing page. The most significant changes between the existing page and my version are:

  • More details about what the organization is and does, including a few points about linked organizations
  • All information about the organization is now cited (primarily to secondary sources)
  • Fewer external links: now only those directly relating to American Action Network.

With the help mentioned above, I've made efforts to make sure the language follows the site's guidelines. I've been advised about Wikipedia's policy on conflict of interest editors, so I'll only be participating via "Talk" pages. Since this replacing the current page is a big change, I expect there might be questions so I'll keep checking here. CGeorgia (talk) 16:51, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like Lesbianadvocate (talk · contribs) has already made the changes you propose without comment or explanation. I have no objection, I think it's an improvement, but I must ask: are CGeorgia and Lesbianadvocate related accounts? ~Amatulić (talk) 20:54, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I did. The changes proposed were well thought out, NPOV, and seemed to conform to the sources. Seeing the posting here was my first and only encounter with CGeorgia. Lesbianadvocate (talk) 14:35, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation. In the future, please remember to use edit summaries to explain your edits, particularly if you're making a significant change like that. ~Amatulić (talk) 14:39, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you're going to quote a site, quote it correctly! AAN does not describe itself as "right-wing". Dmforcier (talk) 18:52, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
