Name
[edit]Per WP:STAGENAME], the name Aly should be the primary name reflected, eg in the article title. Aly Raisman has nearly 10x as many hits as Alexandra Raisman.--Epeefleche (talk) 20:26, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- Standard practice is to name the article by one's birth name unless they are overwhelmingly known by a pseudonym (for example, Lady Gaga as opposed to Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta). This is not the case with Ms. Raisman, whose nickname is not a stage name. Appropriate redirects have been created to redirect those who search for Aly Raisman to this page. IShadowed (talk) 03:56, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
- Are you suggesting that common practice would require us to name the article on the 42nd US president William Jefferson Clinton instead of Bill Clinton, or the former baseball home run champ as Henry Louis Aaron rather than Hank Aaron? Standard practice, indeed Wikipedia policy, i.e., WP:COMMONNAME would be to use Aly Raisman as the article title, not Alexandra Rose Raisman, or even Alexandra Raisman. Rlendog (talk) 21:15, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
I vote to use the most commonly used name (same as with other subjects). Aly all the way!TCO (talk) 04:14, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
But it is not her name! My friends call me many (trust me many) names but this is an encyclopedia? Facts or "antisocial media" stuff? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C8:2F8D:7500:70F0:1A86:7D8C:F21A (talk) 02:09, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

2017 book called "Fierce" - by Raisman, placement
[edit]"Raisman, now 24, talks about her experiences in a new book called "Fierce." It's the story of a girl who dreamed of going to the Olympics, and how she managed to get there. Raisman says she will not discuss the graphic details of what Nassar did to her, but she does provide new insight into a scandal that goes to the highest level of her sport. She told us a lot of people have asked her why Nassar's accusers didn't speak up sooner." -60 Minutes, CBS News

Purple Carrot
[edit]Isn't Ms. Raisman appearing with Tom Brady's Purple Carrot vegan home meal delivery plan?
"Last spring my mom, sister, and I decided we were going to try eating a more plant-based diet. We watched a documentary on the way some animals are raised for meat consumption, this sparked a conversation...Ultimately, I feel better knowing that I’m taking care of my body and mind. Trying to figure out what works best is a constantly evolving journey. It’s all about what works for you and makes you feel at your best!"[1] Statement on Purple Carrot home page.MaynardClark (talk) 18:05, 15 November 2019 (UTC)

At the beginning of July, Raisman placed third all-around at the Olympic Trials in San Jose, California. She also placed first on balance beam and floor., understood that they're both terminologies for the same apparatus but I suggest it should be using consistently within the article to avoid confusion. Same issues can be found with terms such as floor and floor exercise.
- All instances of inconsistent terminology should be fixed now. -Riley1012 (talk) 23:40, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
- Verifiable with no original research:
- "Aly Raisman: UNICEF Kid Power Champion". UNICEF Kid Power., leads to a dead link.

- Hold for check.

- Checked, pass.
- [1], seems dodgy.
- Broad in its coverage:
- Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
- Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
- Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
- Raisman and Biles hugging after the All-Around competition, change to all-around.
- Done.
- Raisman at the 2016 Summer Olympics, caption is the same as one on infobox. I suggest changing or adding more information about the image.
