South Tyrol

[edit]

Wouldn’t it make sense to merge this page, which has very little information and only explores a few very narrow subjects, with the South Tyrol page, making sure that article draws out the different linguistic and cultural influences? MapReader (talk) 16:27, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The entire article is ill-constructed and was (before my deletions a few moments earlier) a very strange attempt to create a nationalistic narrative of Alto Adige's ethnic/linguistic continuity from antiquity to modern times, mostly by citing either no sources, bogus sources or carefully selected sources that fit within this narrative.
Having deleted that, it remains unclear, what this article is supposed to be. Does it want to talk about the three different administrative units named Alto Adige? Each one has its own article... Does it want to talk about the shared etymology? Well, explaining the obvious reference to the Adige river hardly requires an article...
I think Alto Adige should rather be a proper disambiguation page. Mai-Sachme (talk) 04:48, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. It should be a disambig page. As currently, it’s pretty much WP:REFERS because the only commonality is the name. DeCausa (talk) 07:45, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, after two weeks without opposing views, I'm moving forward and restructuring the page as a disambig page. Mai-Sachme (talk) 06:00, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Alto AdigeAlto Adige (disambiguation) – as the page itself says, "Alto Adige most often refers to South Tyrol, a province in northern Italy" ... so per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT, the Alto Adige should be a redirect to South Tyrol. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 02:03, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
