Notability?
[edit]Is this company notable? I honesty can't tell. The article is created by an editor whose sole editing interest is this company. I can't tell if cited press mentions are real researched articles or quick blurbs mainly based on the company's press releases. Or if the awards are real notable things or something you get when you pay for a stand in a trade show. And the awards seem to be for being a promising startup - i.e. rather than being notable, some people speculate it might be some day. 88.112.41.6 (talk) 17:15, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Dear 88.112.41.6, I created this page, and as I have already told you, I am a researcher, and location-based matters are of the greatest interest to me. That is why I started my life on Wikipedia from these things. Now I am working on another article about a completely different subject. And that is it. I could not start with many different articles, sorry, so I do not see here any crime. As for the subject's notability is concerned, please keep in mind that the Financial Times, TechCrunch and others are not the company's mass media and they do not re-publish the company's press releases. As far as the awards are concerned, there is no award that would be reported to be given to AlterGeo as to a promising startups only. The Europas - "the best". Red Herring Top 100 - "the best and most promising", Bully - "Europe's Bright "Tech" Stars, whose firms have demonstrated excellence in innovation, and growth potential"[1], and so on. - I suspect it would pass AFD; being created by a shill isn't automatic grounds for deletion, more's the pity. Pinkbeast (talk) 16:39, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
- The creator of the article is not a shill. Thank you for you very adequate recent edits though, anyway. Andreykh (talk) 17:04, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
