Halhul
[edit]Is there a source that says Ali Abu Awwad was born in Halhul ? The source cited doesn't seem to do that as far as I can tell. I can see that his mother and family moved around and were in Halhul at one point[1] but I haven't seen a source to support Halhul as his place of birth. Sean.hoyland - talk 12:06, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- I'll have to check, but I definitely read, while researching this yesterday that he was born in Halhul. The source gave Halhoul. Nishidani (talk) 12:16, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- Scratch that. It's on the http://www.justvision.org/portrait/ali-abu-awwad sub page. Sean.hoyland - talk 12:23, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- Nowuz. I like it when even the most ostensibly obvious details are queried. That's what the job demands.Nishidani (talk) 12:30, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Sources
[edit]I PRODded this article, because when I consulted it yesterday (in the course of non-Wikipedia related research) it had no sources. There were several apparent footnote numbers, but no links and no actual footnotes, and it gave the appearance of being copy-pasted from somewhere else. As I was busy with other work at the time, I was not able to fully examine this. It now appears, from Nishidani's and Sir Joseph's responses, that there had indeed been sources originally but that, for an unknown reason, another editor removed them. I apologise that lack of time prevented me from making the necessary investigation and corrections yesterday; but at least my intervention has ensured that the article is again in a fit state. - No need for apologies Roland. Indeed I'm in your debt. Had you not noted that, and, without regard to consequences (it is 'pro-Pal'), asked for its deletion while notifying me (a double courtesy), I would have never noticed the way it had been ravished of all its original sourcing. It took no time to fix it. Thanks again. Nishidani (talk) 12:37, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
