"high-quality"
[edit]What does this mean? What scale is the quality rated against? The Rambling Man (talk) 11:21, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- Source doesn't specify, but it must mean healthy or unspoiled in this context. -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 01:04, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- "healthy"? How is that defined in "bog terms"? The Rambling Man (talk) 13:22, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- P199 are you suggesting you don't know what the term means? The Rambling Man (talk) 16:28, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know any more than what the source provided. -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 16:30, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- Ok, good to know. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:31, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
'The bog is considered the largest high-quality bog in Southern Ontario '
[edit]Who wrote this? This bog is in Eastern Ontario, not Southern Ontario. Even someone unfamiliar with the bog can see from the map that it is not in Southern Ontario. Grandma Roses (talk) 21:58, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- Southern Ontario is considered everything south of Algonquin park, just click the link! Eastern Ontario is a sub-section of southern Ontario. -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 01:01, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
I have lived in Eastern Ontario for most of my life (64 years.) NEVER have I read or heard that Eastern Ontario is part of Southern Ontario. Your link had NO references for the claim that Eastern Ontario - or any other region - is part of Southern Ontario. Do you live here??> Grandma Roses (talk) 13:11, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- There are many things we never hear in our lives. But this is great, you learned something new today! -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 14:29, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- Can you provide a reliable citation for your position? There is none in the article on Southern Ontario. I cannot learn something which isn't a real fact. Grandma Roses (talk) 14:33, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- "Southern Ontario" is not an official region with designated or legislated boundaries. But here are at least 4 government agencies that show that they consider Southern Ontario as everything south of the Mattawa/French Rivers or Algonquin Park: Ontario Travel (official tourism site), MTO, Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), and Environment Canada. -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 15:47, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- Your first link does not mention anything east of Peterborough. Your second one includes parts that are not included in 'south of Algonquin Park.' Your third is a federal agency, which has no authority to delineate provincial boundaries, and your fourth, also a federal agency, does not use the term Southern Ontario. I can provide links, too, to show that Eastern Ontario is a distinct entity. We will just have to agree to disagree. Grandma Roses (talk) 16:22, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
