HEY! I got a great idea!!! lets go to a foreign wikipedia server and start posting in the talk pages!!! That way, nobody will know what we are saying!!! Instead of posting in a different language, why dont people just make their own page in their language? Better yet, everybody should learn English!!! (just kidding, for those of you who didnt realize that...) Okay, now I do realize that it is easy to figure out what they are saying. Are there any pictures of him with a gold or anything?PhorkPhace 01:01, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
All the Small Things
[edit]Let's dive into it, shall we?
- Is it "Alexei" or "Aleksei"? I know the former is a variant of the latter (which comes from "Alexis"), but while the title page names him as "Alexei", he is called "Aleksei" further down the page (and I've seen both spellings in competitions).
- According to the FIG link, his mother took him to gymnastics at age six, not five. Can we get that cleared up?
- Should we include that his sense of showmanship was to often roll his top down (to the roar of the crowd) or is that just trivia?
- More than anything though it is important to note that Nemov was the last of the Soviets and the first of the Russians. He was a relic of the old era in his style and training and an indicator of the new in his personality. Mmm, is that really necessary? Maybe I'm nitpicking, but I don't feel this is relevant to the article, or at least not phrased like that.
- Although age and injury took its toll, - Injury I get: gymnasts have that issue perhaps more than any other type of athlete, but age? In 2004 he was 28, which seems to be quite close to when gymnasts usually quit (30-ish, though some go on ever longer), but I don't think his age affected him that much (more likely his injuries and his desire to simply quit).
- Anyone knows what he does now?
- Sources. We. Need. More. Sources. Just compare the article with the references listed, and it's obvious that they don't add up.
- Last one: a few pictures would be nice. I noticed that Google isn't all that great, but I can probably dig up some from the Olympics of -00 and -04. Hackeru (talk) 21:57, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
