[edit]I found the rather POV sentence about ANC in the article on Toompea: "Though the cathedral is cordially disliked by many Estonians as a reminder of Russian hegemony, it has been meticulously restored since Estonian independence." Instead of deleting it outright without any traces (IMHO right thing to do there), I moved it from the Toompea article into the current one, which at least is a somewhat more relevant place for an arguably rather POV text. Next version will have the more POV words rephrased. Cheers, --3 Löwi 13:42, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- I have rephrased this section slightly and hope it meeets with everyones approval. Every guidebook I have seen has mentioned that local estonians dislike the cathedral and its constant use as a symbol of Tallinn in foreign publications. They consider its placement provocative. I added the section about the lack of funds preventing demolition as I remember it from a historical plaque near the cathedral. It also something about the inability of demolishing the cathedral without damaging other buildings due to the use of reinforced concrete and the fact that explosives would have been necessary in the 1920'sBenvenuto (talk) 07:32, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Kalevipoeg
[edit]Isn't it Kalev, who is buried there? Kalevipoeg still guards the doors of hell, IIRC? :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.50.147.123 (talk • contribs) 27 November 2006
