Now that Alex has himself a full-time gig with Gravity Falls, you think we can recreate this page into something that's up to Wiki standards? 24.110.138.141 (talk) 07:41, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
The Hand That Rocks the Wheelchairs
There's a listing in his voice acting filmography for "The Hand That Rocks the Wheelchairs". As far as I can tell, this is the name of a Family Guy episode from 2011, but I can't find anything to back up the claim that he was involved in this episode, or the show at all. Is this just a case of rogue Wikipedia editing, or am I missing something? HandyAndy1.36 (talk) 00:34, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

In the "Personal Life" section, please delete the second sentence. It appears to be unreliably sourced to a reddit page, and claims to be by the subject of the page. Looks very unreliable to me. Thanks. Roxy the dog™ (resonate) 14:30, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- Randykitty That Reddit page was actually Alex Hirsch. I can dig up tweets from his verified Twitter account announcing it if you need. The beginning of the sentence could use a "Hirsch claims he..." but otherwise I see no reason to remove it. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 18:05, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- Is twitter any more reliable than reddit? In the light of the (alleged) subjects obvious attitude to wikipedia, shouldn't we have some more reliable sources to validate something like that? Just sayin. -Roxy the dog™ (resonate) 18:34, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- Roxy the dog - Verified twitter accounts (ones with the blue check mark) can be used for BLP statements about self and to verify authenticity of other posts. Alex Hirsch's account is verified. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 21:18, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- OK, so his verified twitter feed says that the reddit stuff is really from him. Is he telling the truth, or winding us up? In other words, is he a reliable source about himself. I think not. I don't use twitter btw, so I don't know what a blue twitter mark looks like. -Roxy the dog™ (resonate) 22:40, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- Regardless of whether the reddit stuff is reliable or not, I really wonder whether that stuff is encyclopedic. Not everything that is verifiable is also notable. In addition with the doubts about the verqacity of all this, I think it is better to leave it out. --Randykitty (talk) 22:48, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

You could possibly add into the personal life section that Hirsch attended a child psychiatrist at the age of ten after watching the Simpsons episode "Bart's Comet" and being obsessed with the idea of death and mortality. This was revealed on his guest appearance in the Simpsons podcast "Everything is coming up!". TheGinormousCanvas (talk) 08:22, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

17:48, 25 March 2015 (UTC)- Template:cite episode could be used to cite a podcast episode, but for something like this I would like an exact quote and timestamp so that the information could be easily verified through accessing the episode, preferably with a URL connecting to the audio file. Additionally, more sourcing confirming that the podcast speaker is actually Alex Hirsch would be useful considering the nature of the claim. I'd want to hear it myself too, to get a feel for if he sounded serious or joking. 174.92.135.167 (talk) 18:36, 30 December 2015 (UTC)

Alex Hirsch specifically stated during a reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) that he would like his wikipedia to state that he "owns a full size adult taxidermy buffalo which he insists people sit on when they take tours." Proof of this can be found here - "http://www.reddit.com/comments/1kgq85/i_am_alex_hirsch_creator_of_gravity_falls_ask_me/" by searching the username "Monty_pylon."
It appears previous attempts to edit the page with such have been automatically removed. This sentence would most likely fit under the "Personal Life" section of his page.

- This has been discussed on this very page, just above, it is worth reading. Do you have a reliable source? WP:RS Until we have one, it would never be an acceptable addition to the page, and even then, I would argue it is WP:UNDUE. Lets see if anybody else has an opinion. -Roxy the dog™ (resonate) 00:36, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Undue, trivia, and probably not true. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 00:57, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Not done Agree with the above 2 comments - regardless of whether it is true, it is trivia not relevant to an encyclopedia entry - Arjayay (talk) 07:34, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Gravity Falls
Being that the series was not reneed for 2016 we should say -2015 not -present for its time span.
Wondering if any projects after this have been announced yet. --174.92.135.167 (talk) 18:34, 30 December 2015 (UTC)

This piece of information is continuously getting removed for vandalism, but it is a fact. "Alex Hirsch owns a life size taxidermy buffalo which he insists people sit on when they take tours." should be added to the Personal Life section of this page.

Hirsch is half Jewish
According to his approved twitter account: "My sis & I are ethnically half Jewish on dads side but were raised religiously agnostic, celebrating both Christmas & Hanukkah" [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.181.63.137 (talk) 07:21, 16 December 2018 (UTC)

Alex Hirsch is no longer involved in Detective Pikachu and, therefore, this should be excluded from the page. Pedrov1996 (talk) 01:46, 27 March 2019 (UTC)

Scientology critic
Definitely. Years of criticism (see 1 below). Here's just from one day of Twittering (see 2 below). Wikipedia's blacklist engine really shouldn't apply to anything except mainspace; definitely not to Talk pages. Remove parentheses from around the 'dot'. Someone else had added some content about this to the article, but it was removed in a large group purge of material. There is also a lot of chatter around the internet about Hirsch and his criticism of Scientology. Adding back in Category:Critics of Scientology.
