Unlike other biographies of military people I’ve seen here, this article doesn’t mention any of her promotions until she reaches Capt and then Admiral. With her recent passing and her notariety as a “first”, this article definitely needs work. If anyone can find the source info, I’d be happy to update this article. Although Duerk served in the Navy during the Korean War era, there are no reliable sources found as of yet state that she was in a war zone during the war. More specifically, the sources do not establish defining role in the Korean War. Accordingly, "Category:United States navy personnel of the Korean War" was removed until a defining role is established. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 12:36, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
