[edit]Mondiad, thanks for the article. A better reference for Myftaraj would be here, since Telegraf published his article, but you have the link to Myftaraj's blog. I don't like Myftaraj, as he is not entirely precise, and his tendentiousness is noted, but that's not much written about the Congress anyways, and, nevertheless Myftaraj is correct in most counts (although in not all of them).--MorenaReka (talk) 13:37, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
List of attendees
[edit]Where else on WP do we publish a list of the people who attended a conferences? This looks to me like undue emphasis. Please see WP:DIRECTORY I don't want to have to nominate the article for deletion, so unless you can justify it,I'm going to remove it. DGG ( talk ) 17:48, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
- DGG, thanks for the input. This conference was pretty important, as it decided standard Albanian language grammar and orthography, as the fusion of two dialects (debatable if the outcome was 50/50 or pretty much 95/5 in favor of one dialect).
- The notability of the conference is unrelated to the list of the signatories that is present in the article.
- Still, I agree with you that because of WP:DIRECTORY we should not list all the signatories, even though the source, if you looked at it, analyzes all the signatories and their background (and its saying how more than 95% of them didn't have the credentials to make such important decisions.
- Perhaps what we should do is to put in a paragraph the people who are notable, and get rid of the list itself, but I eventually would keep a paragraph on the notable people who had a link in Wikipedia, source that paragraph, and be done with it.
- How does that sound? I hope Mondiad will agree with me as well. MorenaReka (talk) 23:17, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
- Fine. --Mondiad (talk) 23:53, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
- You say that wholeheartedly Mondiad, or just because DGG is an admin and the other conferences don't have the participants? This conference was pretty important, and you worked a lot on that list. You can still follow WP:IAR, :-). --MorenaReka (talk) 23:57, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
- We have other articles with the full list of participants, i.e. Albanian Congress of Trieste, or Congress of Durres. But there is no point of having all of them here after all, since there are people like schoolteachers without any notability who hardly will have an wikiarticle ever. I didn't know if DGG is an admin or not, whatever. But there is no point in arguing. Also the proportion of the full list is not compatible with the rest of the article. If we had more information on the process-verbals, what was said and who, that would be different. You can always add them back if you feel like. I would stand by your decision. --Mondiad (talk) 03:48, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- Well then great, we are all on the same page. --MorenaReka (talk) 13:57, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
