[edit]The reason given is: It is an article about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject. (CSD A7)
- Ok well, it is not about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content. The article is about the national chess championship in Albania (which is not a person, group of people, band, club, company or web content....). Voorlandt (talk) 19:02, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- A7 still applies - there are thousands of chess championships across the world. I couldn't find an appropriate CSD 'category' in the Twinkle script, but the issue is that this article is just a list of people who participated in this championship. Are any of those people notable? What makes this article noteworthy? You need to have an assertion of notability somewhere in the article, or else nobody will know why this chess championship deserves its own article. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 19:28, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- There is one national chess championship per country per year! I have declined the speedy - being a list of national chess champions obviously, incontrovertibly, asserts notability. TerriersFan (talk) 19:31, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for this TerriersFan, it is indeed a national chess championship. Voorlandt (talk) 19:34, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm just saying that you should include some information in the article that will help explain its context. Right now, all it has a list of champions from each year. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 21:24, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Actually I'm pretty sure you were just saying that the article should be speedily deleted. If you thought it needed context, Template:Context would be appropriate instead of db-A7. Of course it was already tagged
