This is a pretty good article overall. Short, but not easy to find information on older players. Anyway, I have a few issues:

  • "Pollard decided to transfer to the United States Military Academy in the spring of 1949 where he played under legendary Vince Lombardi, their backfield coach." Anything written as to a reason for the transfer?
  • "Following the end of that season, he was one of the 90 cadets, also including coach Red Blaik's son, who resigned from the academy because of a cribbing scandal." The lead says he was expelled. Was the resignation out of protest or was he forced out?
  • "He was picked up by the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League, with whom he played for until 1956. Pollard then played a single season for the Calgary Stampeders in 1957." Isn't there more information on the three BC years beyond that one sentence?
  • "His spouse of 47 years, Patricia; children John, Kurt (1962-2007), and Melissa Mozer; and eight grandchildren survive him." This reads rather choppy. Modify to make it flow better.

I'll put this on hold, and when done will give it another read through before hopefully passing it. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 19:41, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Everything looks good now, so I'll pass this as a GA. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 01:40, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
