Korea?

[edit]

The passage on Korea needs to be rewritten somehow. 'Controversial' is a bit of a weasel wording. What exactly was the controversy? That Maki condemned Israeli support for the US war effort? Hardly controversial, it was the policy of both Mapam and Maki at the time. --Soman (talk) 09:42, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Founding date?

[edit]

I'm a bit confused about the wording on page 124 in this book by Joel Beinin. It writes that al-Ittihad was the organ of Federation of Arab Trade Unions and Labor Societies, and was adopted by the NLL as its organ in 'early 1944'. When was the newspaper founded then? Should the NLL al-Ittihad be considered as a separate publication from the one published by FATULS? --Soman (talk) 09:50, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name change

[edit]

Given that Al-Ittihad is an Arabic language newspaper that was founded prior to the establishment of the State of Israel, disambiguating it by calling it an "Israeli newspaper" seems inappropriate. Would anyone mind moving it to Al-Ittihad (Communist newspaper)? Its affiliation with Communism and the Communist party is rather uncontroversial. Tiamuttalk 16:09, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
