Dubious

[edit]

It seems dubious to me that al-Awamiyah, a town of 25,000 in a region of such ancient rich, complex, sociological history (Babylonians, Assyrians, Phoenicians, Persians, Arabs, South Asians, European traders/colonisers) could be so homogeneous to be accurately described as "exclusively" Shia. Maybe all the mosques are Shia and there are no other religious buildings in the town - this would be an easier-to-verify claim. But it still would have to be sourced. NPOV History

[edit]

On the history page, the article says: On November 21, 2011, masked anti-Al Saud militants clashed with security forces, which resulted in security forces fleeing the village and the militants taking over a riot police armored vehicle.[10]

Supporting the dubious claim, a link which is merely a photo of three people dancing with face veil. Last I checked, three people with faceviels dancing on the street , was not evidence of any "militant" group.

Here is the link: http://bb.ta7a.net/upfiles/ta7a-DuZ01214.jpg

Independent news offers only that the Saudi troops killed 4 in Qatif. There is no evidence that these civilians were armed. https://storify.com/MohammadHM/qatif-21-nov-23-nov — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eshaparvathi (talkcontribs) 21:23, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Recent, repeated content removal

[edit]

This content has been repeatedly removed. It seems fairly well sourced and the removal appears to be an attempt to remove anti-Saudi "propoganda". Should the content be removed or restored (fully or partially)?
Some other discussions: My talk page, Altamimi579's talk page @Altamimi579: Jim1138 (talk) 21:15, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

altamimi579: I think biased and unformal terms used by Iranian bots should be removed (the town was devastated by the Saudi regime) first of all, al awamiyah is 100% Saudi, not for Iranians to meddle in, and no one was devastated but the Iranian puppets (hezbollah) and its supporters, plus the government warned from joining protests, they brought harm to themselves.
And how come the murder and killing of multiple young Saudi police officers by Hezbollah and protesters aren’t mentioned? Or the bomb warehouses, or the bombvests found? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Altamimi579 (talkcontribs) 22:34, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Invited by the bot. It is fine to cover the topic, but that statement should not stay as written. The source says that the town has been devastated ("devastated" being a far-reaching claim) by the overall fighting and attacks, not by one side or one particular raid. Also keep in mind that the lead is supposed to be (only) a summary of what's in the body of the article. North8000 (talk) 15:31, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
altamimi579 you're welcome to make constructive edits on Wikipedia. Please note that you broke the WP:3RR when you reverted four times two users within 24 hours, this can lead you to a block. Please provide sources for your edits, explain them with edit summaries and keep a neutral point of view. Your above comment seems to be a battleground comment. Thank you very much. I think those parts needed to be edited in a more neutral manner and according to what the sources said, something that I did in a couple of hours worth of work, although I didn't reach the last parts. I needed to go to bed, it was already 2:30 AM. Thinker78 (talk) 08:42, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for the time you spent on it. Best regards.---Wikaviani (talk) 09:21, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
