Asylum status
[edit]- Is there any word on the status of the 1500 meter runner seeking asylum in Norway? H1nkles (talk) 23:04, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
The article answers your question now. On another topic: Muqimyar was not part of Afghanistan's original delegation. It looks very much as though she was included to replace Ahdyar. Remember that the wildcard system allows a country to send one non-qualified female sprinter. Muqimyar is competing because Ahdyar pulled out, although the media doesn't say so in so many words. The current article implies incorrectly that Ahdyar and Muqimyar were both part of the initial delegation. Under Olympic rules, that's not possible. Aridd (talk) 10:32, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
