OK, I’ve had a go at expanding the discussion. I’ve rewritten the article from scratch as the concept is becoming quite important in a number of fields. I hope it makes better sense now. The section on Deleuze & Guattari still needs expanding, which I might tackle if I get the time. Deleuzians, please jump in and do it!
