German certification
21 is (already) Gold in Germany... Source is musikindustrie.de!

Canadian Certification
What is the problem with having the canadian certification of "19" on the discography? It's still an album certification whether the Canadian chart position is shown on the discography or not and the Canadian position was shown until recently when somebody swapped it for the French. Many singers discography's have certifications shown without the chart positions being shown on the table. --Duphin (talk) 15:51, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- it's been general consensus for as long as i remember. and from FLC discussions as well. if the positions aren't in the tables then the certifications should not be there because it's WP:UNDUE a--Duphin (talk) 23:00, 20 February 2011 (UTC)nd they should just be in the individual articles. if things have changed with regards to this then fair enough. and i swapped canada for france. she has more chart entries in france than in canada. Mister sparky (talk) 16:16, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- But if the Canadian position was there all along until somebody randomly swapped it for the French can't we put it back? Canada is a major market too and since she has actually had more success there and had the album certified it makes more sense to have tha Canadian positiions than the French don't you think? --86.185.254.205 (talk) 21:02, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- It seems pretty ridiculous that the Canadian certification is being ghettoized because someone felt like swapping Canada out for France...--mikomango (talk) 21:07, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- 2 albums and 3 songs in french charts vs. 1 album and 1 song in canada. so how is that more in canada? more chart entries in france was the only reason for the swap, not anything else. Mister sparky (talk) 21:14, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- It may be true that she has more chart entrys in France but since she actually has a Gold certified album in Canada and "21" will probably do even better (not to mention the fact that Canada was in the positions table first) i just think it makes more sense to return Canada back to the chart don't you agree? --86.185.254.205 (talk) 21:36, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- no because she's had more chart entries in france... and saying that put canada back in because she'll probably end up being more successful there is just WP:CRYSTAL and irrelevant right now. plus canadian certifications are for shipments to retailers, not sales to the public. so it just means the record company sent loads out, doesn't mean it sold more. Mister sparky (talk) 21:53, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Either way the Canadian positions were in first and any certification is better than none. Cant we just leave the French chart positions up if you feel so strongly and just put the Canadian certification up too? I really cannot see what harm it does when it a sourced fact pertaining to the album, there are pleanty of discographies with certifications up for countries that don't have the chart figures up at the same time.<---Duphin
- I agree...I don't get why the certification still can't be there just because, again, someone felt like swapping the charts out. We're on Wikipedia to learn, and I'm sure someone would be glad to learn she has a Gold certified album in Canada when looking at her discography.--mikomango (talk) 23:27, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- "just because, again, someone felt like swapping the charts out" - you didnt read a word of what i wrote before did you... but add what you like to it, i really don't care... Mister sparky (talk) 23:41, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Canadian Certification: Pt. 2
The CRIA database is currently down for improvements but they have provided an e-mail adress and will if mailed at that adress send back Adele's Canadian certifications data which shows that "19", "21" and "Chasing Pavements" are all certified Gold in canada. I just thought i'd leave that here to avoid anymore confusion and people putting up and taking down Canadian certifications. --Duphin (talk) 18:01, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Belgian Certification
Do we really need to go through all of this pointlessness over certifications again? If there were already six certifications up and they were all countries that had positions shown already then i could understand why you don't want the Belgian certification up. As it is this is the fifth certification and since there are no others to take it's place it seems pointless not to include the Belgian certifications. Most people who visit Adele's discography would rather see a Belgian certification than no certification at all, Can't we compromise and keep the certifications up until the album is certified in a country that has positions up which can take its place? That seems like the most sensible course of action to me. --Duphin (talk) 19:58, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- it is also a criteria of WP:DISCOGSTYLE, start a discussion there. it's not just me being a pain. Mister sparky (talk) 21:36, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- Fine if you're such a stickler for the rule why don't we just swap one of the current charts which havn't had the album certified (like somebody did for Canada), Surely a country which the album has been certified in is more relevant than one which it hasn't. --Duphin (talk) 01:04, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- so follow all guidelines except the ones you disagree with? and belgium is a very minor market compared to the others. that's why it's not included. and including it purely on the basis that something is certified is exactly the reason why we don't include every single place it's charted, it's meant to be an indiscriminate and unbiased selection. not purely including something on the basis it makes it look more successful. Mister sparky (talk) 16:16, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not saying that we should NOT stick to the rule (though i think it's stupid when there are only a few certifications, in cases where there are many i can see the point) but on the one hand you're saying it's meant to be an "unbiased" and "indiscriminate" and then you say that Belgium can't be included because it's a "minor" territory which doesn't make sense.
- Yes Belgium may be smaller than other countries up currently (though it does have a larger population than both Austria and Swizerland and equal sales thresholds for Gold & Platinum as Austria). Certifications are proportional to the population so being certified Gold in Belgium for example is just as much an achievement as selling 1m and being certified Gold in the US proportionally, so since Belgium has a larger population and equal Certification threshold and IS certified it makes more sense to me to replace Austria with Belgium in the charts. --Duphin (talk) 21:02, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- like the belgian charts, the belgian certifications are also split by flanders and wallonia. so the thresholds are for that region, not the whole country. so the above arguement is irrelevant. the population of the wallonia region is far below that of austria. Mister sparky (talk) 21:09, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- I know the charts are split but if the certifications are too then why is that information not up on the List of music recording certifications page which says certifications are based on the whole country not seperate regions? --Duphin (talk) 21:17, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- i thought they were... if they're not then i apologise. *googles* Mister sparky (talk) 21:20, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- It's ok it isn't your fault, though i did look at some other albums that had been certified in Belgium (EG, Back to Black & I Dreamed a Dream) and it seems that the charts positions are split between the two regions but the certifications are based on the country as a whole. --Duphin (talk) 21:45, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Water and a Flame
I think we should all discuss whether "Water and a Flame" is a featured SINGLE or just a song on Daniel Merriweather's album Love & War. It's listed as a single on his discography and the album page, has a music video and was reviewed as a single by numerous people and charted in the UK so i think it should be listed as a featured single, thoughts? --Duphin (talk) 14:20, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- itunes has it as a single. have added the reference and it has been added as a featured artist single. Mister sparky (talk) 20:58, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- Cool, glad that's been resolved :) --Duphin (talk) 21:54, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Adele's "19" album has sold 3 million copies worldwide according to the latest figures on it's own Wikipedia page. This needs updating on her discography page.

- Not done Nowhere in Section 2.2 of Adele's article (2008–10: 19) could I find a specific saying the album has sold 3 million copies. If you want a change please point out info information specifying that the album has sold 3 million copies worldwide. Remember that information should be verifiable from reliable sources. - AllAccess is a legitimate website that states when songs will go for adds to radio stations, which makes it a 'radio single.' It deserves to be under the singles chart because it is being released December 5 to U.S. AAA radio. I don't see how you classify a list of albums and singles to be released a "prospective radio playlist" either. --Crocodileman (talk) 03:01, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- a radio playlist is not confirmation of a single release. i didnt say it wasn't reliable. almost all of the tracks from 21 have been played on uk radio stations, does that make them all singles? no. Mister sparky (talk) 22:23, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
- But I'm not arguing about this being a UK single, I'm saying that this is a US radio single that will go to Adele's core format, AAA, on December 5. And stop calling the AllAccess Future Releases page a radio playlist when it clearly isn't. --Crocodileman (talk) 11:38, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

France
Adding France in charts would be good since Adele is the most successful international artist in this country. 21 has sold 1,100,000 there which didn't happen for years.
78.112.215.126 (talk) 15:52, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
- Normally, it's a good idea to provide sources for sales figures on here when you try to bring it to the attention of others. I'd say we should wait until France posts all its 2011 certifications (which should happen in the next few months). And if the French certifications for Adele look impressive, then we should replace Ireland with France as the latter has the fifth largest market in the world, whereas Ireland is just a small music market behind markets like Finland and Argentina. French peaks for Adele look decent enough.--Harout72 (talk) 17:04, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Greatest Hits?
I just discovered the (apparent) existence of a "greatest hits" album. Amazon UK lists it (although they don't sell it directly), as does Discogs. I'm wondering if it should be listed here, because from what I can tell, it is an official release, albeit an extremely limited one. SKS (talk) 04:46, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
UK certification discrepancies
Hi all, Good morning. I found that some of the certifications for Adele's singles in UK were increased, when http://www.bpi.co.uk/certifiedawards/search.aspx states otherwise. I corrected them. Hope it was fine. Cheers, Lana... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.22.193.145 (talk) 12:10, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- I've corrected them again. Someone who edits this page must think certifications are automatic, which they're not.
- To those editors, I say: see here and here.--Mαuri’96 “...over the Borderline” 21:22, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Perhaps it would be good to make the charts listed under 'Video albums' consistent with the ones listed under other subheadings on this page (Albums, singles). For example, Australia is not listed under video albums (despite the fact that the ARIA certification is listed under Video albums).
Cheers :)
