Orphaned references in Addo Elephant National Park Marine Protected Area
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Addo Elephant National Park Marine Protected Area's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 14:32, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
Embedded location map
[edit]Maqdisi, I have replaced the location map in the infobox as an additional embedded map as I think it is useful to the reader to know where in South Africa the MPA is located. I would like you opinion on making this standard for SA MPA infoboxes.
I like your map, but you seem to have gone to a lot of trouble to provide colour coded markers, without giving an indication of a meaning associated with each colour marker. Also welcome to Wikipedia, and nice to see someone active on the South African MPAs. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:55, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Peter, I agree with you, the additional map gives more info as to its location in South Africa. I actually didn't know both could be shown at the same time.
- With regards to the different coloured map markers, they could very well be the same, it just points to the locations of the different islands in the MPA. The colours could be removed (as I just did), or the points removed entirely,
- Thanks. Maqdisi (talk) 06:31, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- Maqdisi, I will put dual maps in the other MPAs, or you can if you get there first. What are the meanings of the colours in the MPA map template you made? Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 09:59, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- They are red for restricted zones, but the others have no meaning except to differentiate between adjacent MPAs and to collect sections of the same MPA. I see for some like iSimangaliso Marine Protected Area, uThukela Banks Marine Protected Area and Robben Island Marine Protected Area, I added more colours than the red and another colour, but that really wasn't necessary. I think I had an idea to differentiate an Offshore Control Zone, or a fishing zone but not all MPAs have such zones. If you wish, perhaps we could change the colours to fit certain criteria Maqdisi (talk) 14:36, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
