Curry naru Shokutaku

[edit]

The English translation is official even if the series itself hasn't been released in English. Why not use that?--Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 21:53, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where does it say that it's official? Scanlations? Source needed, besides looking at the title trasnlated on the Japanese cover. By the way, the word Curry in the title of the page is a dirivative (forgot how to spell : P). Karē should be Curry, goofed up. – J U M P G U R U @Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 22:27, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The English title is right on the cover. There's no need to use a transliteration.--Nohansen (talk) 19:57, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What source proves that is the English title? They only use that title on scanlations, which should have nothing to do with Wikipedia. – J U M P G U R U @Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 20:37, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The cover itself is the source. Also, the manga's website (Link).--Nohansen (talk) 21:53, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Giving some info, Jump Guru's comment up there, Karē should be Curry, well actually, in kanji Karē(華麗) mean Splendor, Gorgeous or Magnificent, but in katakana, カレー mean curry. The Japanese name thus have two different literal translation meaning, one is The splendor dinning table and the other Dinning table with curry.(for a better English translation, remove table from both) A fun note is that the Chinese translation removed the naru in between and replaced it with curry in Chinese, thus making use of both meaning, making it as The splendor dinning table with curry(Or Dinning table with splendor curry, depending on where you cut the sentence) —Preceding signed comment added by MythSearchertalk 03:50, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tankōbons?

[edit]

If I'm not mistaken, the plural form of Japanese words is always the same as the singular (except when dealing with p->b/k->g type situations). Shouldn't the header be Tankōbon? trepto (talk) 20:56, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Technically, yes, but ultimately the section should be called "Manga" per the MoS (along with lots of other cleanup), and the list of volumes itself needs split out into a separate List of Addicted to Curry chapters and converted to use {{Graphic novel list}}. ダイノガイ?!」(Dinoguy1000) 20:59, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Good call, thanks for the link to MoS-AM! *bookmarks* trepto (talk) 21:51, 4 March 2009 (UTC)::[reply]

Notability?

[edit]

Is this series actually notable? I poked around a bit, but the only thing I could find (in English) which might hint at notability was ANN's report of Japanese weekly comic ratings for January 20-26, 2009, in which volume 31 ranked #11. Anyone? ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 18:42, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
