Great Concern about Twyford Bridge No 177 due to years of weight & vibration from possibly hundreds of heavy goods vehicles driving over it every single day of the week

[edit]

The deterioration of Twyford Bridge No 177 is of great concern to many local residents, due to years of weight and vibration on this single lane hump backed bridge, from possibly hundreds of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) driving over this bridge every day of the week, 24 hours a day to go to and from Cherwell Valley Silos and make deliveries to building sites etc. in Kings Sutton. There is a weight restricted railway bridge, quite near to Twyford Bridge No 177, in Kings Sutton and South Northamptonshire Council have signs in the nearby village of Kings Sutton preventing the HGVs from going through Kings Sutton so all HGVs licensed to operate from Cherwell Valley Silos, and delivering goods in Kings Sutton, go back and forth over Twyford Bridge possibly hundreds of times per day. We hope the Canal River Trust can save this beautiful bridge at Twyford Wharf, Oxfordshire — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.150.145.187 (talk) 11:51, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a soapbox; it has certain core policies, such as neutral point of view and verifiability. Has this topic been covered in, for example, the Banbury Guardian or Oxford Times? --Redrose64 (talk) 17:10, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The Single Lane Listed Bridge at Twyford Wharf has been damaged again by a vehicle and could be of concern to boats passing beneath it on the Oxford Canal - October 2016. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.180.40 (talk) 16:56, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Twyford, Oxfordshire Merge

[edit]

Twyford, Oxfordshire is a stub article which should be merged into this article here or the Oxford Canal article, or both.--DThomsen8 (talk) 12:57, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Dthomsen8: It's a WP:POVFORK. There is some slow-burn dispute here, see for example User talk:78.143.206.176 and the activities of TwyfordOxfordshire (talk · contribs) and 109.150.145.187 (talk). There is little to merge. --Redrose64 (talk) 14:51, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I see, but as a member of the Guild of Copy Editors, I am concerned with the copyedit tag. Can any of these editors go ahead and do the copyediting requested?--DThomsen8 (talk) 17:29, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"These editors" being people with an axe to grind? I redirected it, that's dealt with the {{copy edit}}. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:46, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the redirect. I hope it sticks.--DThomsen8 (talk) 19:21, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
