Absolutism – The concept by which one with absolute power cannot be questioned or disobeyed ; See Hobbes ; Under “Enlightened Absolutism”, rulers try to justify and solidify their absolute power by granting people Enlightenment liberties (once forced to do so). Ideally, they’d just like to rule with a straight iron fist.
