I am from Ebiriba and our people call and know our town by the name, Ebiriba. Why have we allowed the mispronunciation of this name by people foreign to our land to be the accepted official name?

Again, other Igbo people of a different dialect pronounce Nina as Nnenna, and it seems to be just fine for nde Ebiriba? My sister's name is Nina (and so will be my daughter's name, by the grace of God :-) ), so I know what I'm talking about.

Even my own name, Igwo was misspelled (as 'Igwe') when I was being registered to school as a child...

These seemingly little details are important for the preservation of our culture and tradition, we must pay much more attention to such details, to make sure our culture is preserved correctly.
