[edit]Hello, there seems to be an inactive photo/image link added on this page--whats to be done aboout this please? Should I remove or try to add the photo link? Khani100 (talk) 10:36, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Khani100
Hello, I am also adding/amending the category for this subject as the case is the same as already discussed on the Talk page for Ayub Khan (Gen) and Gohar Ayub Khan, thanks 39.54.109.10 (talk) 03:37, 12 March 2012 (UTC)Dr HP Gupta
I have edited and amended/changed and also removed some material from this article added recently by User:Naghib, which listed a long list of names of relations and family members of the subject's, in the 'Legacy' section. Wikipedia is not a directory for self-promotion or listing of names and details in such a manner, and the section is supposed to (a) generally deal with the actual long-term legacy and traditions for public welfare and other services and activities initiated by the subject and perhaps, in one way or the other followed up by his later family/descendants and/or the community at large. Non-notable names and so on shouldnt be added please. Thank, Khani100 (talk) 08:29, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Khani100
Honorifics
[edit]Please, dear users/editors, kindly try not to use additional, repetitious honorific titles, just for puffery and building up a subject needlessly and meaninglessly. Khan sahib Abdul Majid Khan Tarin is also understood, automatically, to be a 'Khan' of his area and 'jagir' and I have now removed the additional Khan Sahib Khan Abdul Majid Khan Tarin. It does not serve any main or useful purpose in the article per se. Thank you.39.54.32.190 (talk) 18:36, 28 April 2012 (UTC)AsadUK200
Removed
[edit]I have removed some material which wasnt trustworthy and lacked adequate citations/references. 39.54.243.51 (talk) 04:42, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Col Mumtaz Pakistan
Removed references 6 and 14 as the links are dead Thanks & Regards Azmarai76 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Azmarai76 (talk • contribs) 09:36, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
Removed name
[edit]Helo, me again. I have removed the name of the second son of Khan Abdul Majid Khan Tarin, as that's not properly confirmed. The newspaper article/reference from 1959 only states that the 'second son' was an 'agriculturist' of NWFP, it does NOT give any name. It might be 'Abdul Hamid' or 'Abdul Wahid' or anything how can we be sure? There is no acceptable reference/citation to this effect; whereas both the eldest son and third son's names are borne out by records. Thanks. 39.54.33.24 (talk) 16:20, 6 April 2014 (UTC)Col Mumtaz (r) Pakistan
Fixed date of demise
[edit]I have heard via email from a great-grandson of Abdul Majid Khan Tarin, in Islamabad, Pakistan, and was informed ther the actual date of the demise of this subject was 20th June 1939, not 20th September 1939. I have corrected this now. Regards AsadUK200 (talk) 02:04, 16 September 2016 (UTC)AsadUK200

I wonder if the guy really was given lungi or dastar of his village even to be called a khan. He got rich due to British Service but wasnt a tribe chief but so did Ishwar Das. Azmarai76 (talk) 21:49, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
- User Azmarai76 , please note that you are again making some deplorable comments that are not borne out by facts. I would again request to plz refrain from such comments. All sources confirm the concerned person (subject) of this article to be from a noble Tareen /Tarin family of Talokar village and son of a chieftain and notable cavalry officer and in addition, he was an MP and dedicated public philanthropist. I feel richness and wealth is not connected with rank or honor , they are separate things, and if you have any personal animosity against him, that is your own problem, nothing to do with Wikipedia. Please get that clear. MalikIH (talk) 02:50, 29 September 2017 (UTC)MalikIH

Reliable sources
[edit]This article seems to consist largely of original research, and is almost entirely reliant on primary sources. Is there any significant mention of the subject in published secondary historical works? FrankP (talk) 19:37, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hello User:FrankP, the article refers to several reliable secondary sources too as per Wikipedia specifications. However, a number of primary sources are cited as they are deemed reliable, especially government/official records and so on. How/what would you suggest please, to improve ? Historical published sources are not always as plentiful here due to lack of adequate research and scholarship. AsadUK200 (talk) 05:31, 8 January 2020 (UTC)AsadUK200
Dear FrankP thanks this country isn't really a jungle. Only from this one district of NWF Province we had three Vicregal Darbaris during British Raj. There was nothing like Junior Magistrate but Tehsildar who would latter be promoted to become Extra Assistant Commissioner but seems like a term as Tehsildar wouldn't serve the purpose here. Similarly, the wards established at different hospitals by the elected representatives as governmemtal developing programs can be regarded as philanthropy or .... I don't know the word fit to be used here. Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Azmarai76 (talk • contribs) 18:24, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
