Name
[edit]His name is reported in several places as Nachshon Wachsman, and someone has redirected that page here. Is Nachson definately correct? Timb0h (talk) 12:14, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]I suggest that this page be moved from "Nachson Wachsman" to "Nachshon Wachsman." This is consistent with the Hebrew original form of his name. It also matches the preference of Google, which prefers the latter version by a 10 to 1 margin.
The same change ought to be made to the Cesky version of this article (see interwiki links). Shalom (Hello • Peace) 15:57, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- Support. The Journal of Palestine Studies uses the spelling "Nachshon Wachsman" exclusively. See Vol. 25, No. 2, Page. 27; Vol. 24, No. 4, Page. 154 and Vol. 27, No. 1, Page. 152 (JSTOR subscription required). --Lox (t,c) 10:46, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yup, this not a too controversial move, IMHO. Maxim(talk) 13:57, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
proper article name
[edit]The article is not a biography as the name suggested therefore I renamed the article to a more appropriate name which was used in the media to describe the event. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 15:05, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Hitchhiking
[edit]Some (unsourced, based on what I know, sorry) notes regarding hitchhiking in Israel:
- Many of the settlements are, well, small and rural places. Hichhiking is naturally common in rural places all over Israel.
- The regulations for soldiers not to hitchhike existed even before the Vaxman incident. And even today some soldiers will hitchhike.

Birthdate
[edit]Birth date listed in summary at top is incorrect and in disagreement with a later entry in the text below. Correct date is April 3, 1975 as he was born at Passover which is never in October. StarofDavidCox (talk) 03:26, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
- I've changed the birth month to April for consistency, but, to avoid this being deleted, could you please fond a reliable source for the date. Dbfirs 06:53, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Under the Search and rescue attempt section, the article starts referring to "Arafat" without any context (e.g. his first name, relevance, title). It would be helpful to provide this information or link Arafat's name to his wikipage (Yasser Arafat). Medievalonion (talk) 22:07, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
