[edit]There are various Park and New Park theatres in NYC and Brooklyn. See Park Theatre (disambiguation).
This playhouse was called both Park Theatre and New Park Theatre, with or without Abbey's, and was known and advertised by all these names: I wanted to distinguish it from the 'Old Drury' Park Theatre (Manhattan) on Park Row.
It was called "Abbey's New Park Theatre" on an official program in 1882 (eg Divorcons by Sardou), but it had a huge sign on the side with Abbey's Park Theatre when it burned down (see Ext. links.) Wiki articles on cinemas and theatres usually have the last name as the title, so maybe it should be called Abbey's New Park Theatre...
