Today Is a Good Day to Die - Viking Prayer

[edit]

I heard a different origin story derived from the Vikings. The Vikings devoted a lot of their energies into war-making. No matter how fierce they fought, Vikimgs did die and keeping a stiff upper lip in war is a struggle. One of he Viking Kings came up with the idea of facing the fear of death by welcoming it and thus curtail its power. So he would say before every battle, "Today is a good day to die". It came to be repeated by every Viking warrior who became proud to challenge Death. 74.32.184.152 (talk) 04:40, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
