Alternate ISBN
[edit]How does Wikipedia handle multiple ISBN numbers? Searching round hasn't found any other examples, nor any instruction.
I have the alternate 10-digit number '0 14 00.8533 5' on my copy, which, oddly enough, points to an entirely different book via Google D: — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rylie James Thomas (talk • contribs) 08:24, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
- I've always gone with the ISBN of the first edition. Austlit lists the first Penguin paperback in 1979 with an ISBN of 0140056572, the Allen Lane (London) edition laos in 1979 (not sure if this is hardback or paperback) as 0713913231 and the 1979 USA edition from George Braziller as 0807609250. The number listed here relates to the Penguin Australia edition. Perry Middlemiss (talk) 22:18, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
