As the author of this book, I have taken great care to give as neutral an account of it as possible, though I am of course aware that total neutrality about one's own work is impossible. . I appreciate that some editors will find it objectionable that I have written this entry at all. I understand this, but urge such critics to respond not by deleting the article but by improving it. I think the book contains a number of important arguments and some valuable facts, and researchers should be aware of its existence.
