By The Light Of The Magical Moon

[edit]

The album produced a single, see https://www.discogs.com/Tyrannosaurus-Rex-By-The-Light-Of-The-Magical-Moon/master/297233. I discovered the song on a Dutch compilation album related to the legendary Kralingen Music Festival in June 1970, on which it certainly was played by Marc and Mickey. The duo was a regular guest in that period of the German pop show Beat Club. 83.85.143.141 (talk) 02:49, 23 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what your point is...the single is listed in the article.Greg Fasolino (talk) 15:44, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Spring 1969 sessions

[edit]

There seems to be a conflict over how many songs from the spring 1969 sessions with Took made it onto the album. Paytress' first Bolan bio, "20th Century Boy", says 4 (although he only names "Great Horse"), however his updated bio "The Rise And Fall Of A 20th Century Superstar" does not mention how many and Cliff McLenahan's exhaustive chronology of studio sessions published in 2019 states there were only 2 ("Great Horse" and "Wind Cheetah"). While Paytress is a respected biographer of Bolan, I feel that McLenahan's book is far more detailed regarding the studio sessions (he lists specific dates, studios, songs, how many takes of each song, and anything else relevant to the session), as well as having been published at a much later date and so representing the most updated information. At present the article says 4 songs and I can't undo it because it just keeps being reverted back. So I thought I'd just bring it up here as a little "clash of references".
