[edit]..."and abroad". Please reword - too parochial.
Article should not be deleted, but IMPROVED - this organization has received significant coverage from independent sources; a quick Google search reveals that. ACORD is of strong relevance to the insurance industry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.52.243.152 (talk) 03:58, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Reversion of recent edits -- September 2017
[edit]To the IP address that recently made significant changes to the article, I salute your attempts at keeping it up to date. However, your changes revealed an almost complete lack of familiarity with the standards that are used here on Wikipedia. First and foremost, we absolutely do not plagiarize from sources. And we do not add external links (i.e., links that take the reader outside of Wikipedia) to the main text of the article. And we do not use promotional language of the type that is typically found on company web sites. I strongly encourage you to work through our WP:Tutorial, which will provide you with the basic skills needed for crafting an acceptable Wikipedia article. If you prefer, you can practice in WP:Drafts space and ask for assistance from the folks at the Articles for Creation Help Desk. If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to ask. Edit Requests
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Putting in some edit requests per David notMD's advice on teahouse. Made revisions before reading that, so feel free to undo those.
Here is a citation for the second half of history referring to ACORD's electronic standards.
Here is a citation for office locations. Not a secondary source, unfortunately, so let me know if this works.
Would also like to put in a formal request to remove the citations flag that was at the top of the page. Thanks! Morrissey35 (talk) 15:37, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- Morrissey35 Those are links, not citations. Here is the first one in a ref format.[1] You can use that as a model for the second one. For something as factual as office locations, a primary source (the ACORD website) is OK. David notMD (talk) 15:59, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- David notMD My bad! Here is that fixed reference.[2] Thanks for helping. Morrissey35 (talk) 19:37, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

- Hey there! Any ETA of when this edit might be reviewed? Thanks! Morrissey35 (talk) 19:13, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

@Morrissey35: I added two citation needed templates to the article. These need to be resolved before the banner at the top of the page is removed. You can provide sources to replace the templates below. Thank you for your patience. Z1720 (talk) 20:29, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Z1720: Here are those references! [1] [2] First one contains information about ACORD's expansion into all lines of service. Second one lists office locations.

New Edits: PropertyCasualty360 Award
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hey there, editors! I'd like to put in an edit request here for this page. ACORD's subsidiary, ACORD Solutions Group, recently received an inaugural Insurance Innovator Award from PropertyCasualty360 for its digital solution ADEPT (ACORD Data Exchange Platform & Translator), built upon ACORD Standards. Is there any way to have this information appear in the Current Practices section? Or would a new section be recommended for this? Let me know, here's the reference[1] in any case. Thank you!
- Could you clarify the importance of this award in the field? Additionally, the reference is behind a paywall; could a relevant quote from the article be provided? Lastly, what text are you proposing be added to the article? Vague phrases like "digital solution" are non-specific and seem promotional. SpencerT•C 21:55, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying so fast! Here's that extra info you've requested.
Importance of the Award: The award is given to new technologies that are considered to be facilitating faster and more accurate data exchange in the insurance industry.
Relevant quotes from the article:
1. General info about award: "We called for nominations for the first PropertyCasualty360 Insurance InnovPropertyCasualty360 Insurance Innovators recognition program in July 2021. We were thrilled by the overwhelming response. In a development that represented the robust nature of insurance modernization initiatives, nearly 180 nominations were submitted for individuals and businesses that are making strides in this award program’s five themed categories: Technology Innovation; Customer Experience Innovation; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI); Risk Management Innovation; and Environmental Stewardship."
2. More info about the award ADEPT won: “What follows are the Risk Management Innovation honorees in the inaugural PropertyCasualty360 Insurance Innovators recognition program. ADEPT (ACORD Data Exchange Platform & Translator) allows real-time data exchange, translation and transformation. ADEPT eschews the traditional peer-to-peer model of data sharing in favor of a hub and spoke model that expedites adoption, eliminates multiple integration points, and provides a rich ecosystem for partners. The platform supports use cases across insurance domains, specifically targeting the longstanding industry issue of policy/binder/invoice/payment information discrepancies among broker and carrier systems. This product, created by the industry and for the industry, continues to evolve according to the needs of global insurance stakeholders.”
Proposed Text: Maybe something along the lines of: In December 2021, ACORD Solutions Group’s product, ADEPT, received a 2021 Insurance Innovators award from PropertyCasualty360. Let me know if all that works, and if you might need anything else. Thanks again!
Morrissey35 (talk) 21:04, 15 December 2021 (UTC)- Happy New Year! Just giving a little bump here to see if this suggested edit is okay. Thanks! Morrissey35 (talk) 14:17, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Spencer: Just pinging to see if I should change anything else to help get this edit approved! Thanks! Morrissey35 (talk) 21:37, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- I'll be honest, the award doesn't seem to be particularly notable and its inclusion leans toward a promotional tone in the article, but I will leave the request open for someone else to also come give it a look. Best, SpencerT•C 22:26, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- No time like the present, and I apologize for the delay, Morrissey35. I've included the suggestion, albeit in a stripped-down manner; I didn't look too deep into this because I'm short on time, but point number 2 doesn't help justify why they won the award and crosses the line of a simple product description, therefore dipping its toes in WP:ADVERTISING. To anyone watching that feels I've made an incorrect decision, please let me know. Panini!🥪 01:56, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
