[edit]There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.
If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 20:11, 1 September 2017 (UTC){unblock|1= need to be unblocked to update the company whom I work for page I understand some of it was viewed as "promotional" those pieces will be removed from what we update}}
Unblock
[edit]ACORDComms (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Need to update as part of my job, I work for the organization whose page I am attempting to update. I understand some material was deemed "promotional" and that will be removed on the next edit.
Decline reason:
You have not proposed a new username as instructed; please review the username policy and choose a username that represents you as an individual(your real name is not required). If you wish, a name in the format of "Username of ACORD" would be acceptable. In addition, the other elements of the block still need to be addressed. To be unblocked:
- you must confirm that this account is used by one individual only
- you must agree to avoid creating or directly editing articles related to your organization (requested edits will still be permitted)
- you must agree to abide by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use and disclose any paid relationship in accordance with the paid contributor policy
- you must indicate what areas of Wikipedia you intend to edit in the future
If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organization, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets.
So we know understanding is mutual, please state your understanding/response to each item in your own words.
I'm sorry that this message could not be more favorable. 331dot (talk) 10:14, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
I also note that looking at the edit history of the article about your organization, it appears that there is at least one other account related to it(essentially this username in reverse order). If that was you, you will need to address that prohibited sock puppetry as well.
Please understand that as an encyclopedia, Wikipedia is only interested in what independent reliable sources state about article subjects, and has no interest in what a subject(or its representative) wants to say about itself. If there is incorrect information in the article about your organization, we want to know what it is, but you won't be unblocked if all you want to do here is edit about your organization. If you want to be an individual, general Wikipedia contributor in articles outside of your conflict of interest, you may be permitted to make edit requests in articles related to your COI, but again, only if you want to be a general contributor. 331dot (talk) 10:18, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
