Which Univ in Cardriff Is it??
[edit]From the first paragraph of the Academia section (bold added for emphasis):
- Armstrong began his teaching career in 1936 at University College, in Swansea, Wales. This lasted until 1939 when he moved to the Royal University of Malta in Valletta as a professor of classics. In 1943, he became a classical sixth form master at Beaumont College, Old Windsor, Berkshire, England. Three years later in 1946, he went to University College in Cardiff, Wales as a lecturer in Latin. In 1950, he was named the Gladstone Professor of Greek at University of Liverpool in Liverpool, England. He was made a professor emeritus in 1972.
I'm not sure which University in Cardriff it is. It could be Cardiff University or it could be University of Wales Institute, Cardiff? Copysan 08:48, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- Believe I may be able to help on this, I'm a student at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, which is a post 1992 University in Cardiff (a 'new' university). Before this it was a polytechnic college, and I believe in the timespan talked about (1946 - 1972), the current campuses were separate colleges. Cardiff University is older, and has undergone sevaral name changes over the years, including University of Wales College, Cardiff and University of Wales, Cardiff, so confusion is understandable and often! The university that you refer to must be what is now Cardiff University. Alex 01:52, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
