MC Tunes Merger
[edit]Yeah, it's probably worth merging the MC Tunes article with the main 808 State one. The MC Tunes article needs expanding slightly. Nicky Lockett went on to form Dust Junkys in 1995, who eventually released a number of singles in 1997 and an album in 1998. --Sonance 05:46, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)
Either MC Tunes needs expanding, or it should be slightly edited before being merged.
Larsvolta says:
I concur, unless MC Tunes plans to release additional material under that moniker in the future. The MC Tunes article should not be edited to the point where it cannot be ambiguated once again if necessary. --larsvolta
Neutral POV
[edit]I believe the content marked with "citation needed" should have citation appropriated, or the statements should be removed altogether. Statements such as "They were considered pioneers of the acid house sound, a staple and foundation of rave music" need work. -larsvolta
See WP:NPOV. Several statements in the article are argumentative in nature, bordering on promotional. Alan 18:38, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:808 State-Newbuild (album cover).jpg
[edit]Image:808 State-Newbuild (album cover).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 04:11, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Radcliffe or Bury
[edit]Formed where? The article is confusing, it begins saying they were formed in Radcliffe, and continues with Bury? Parrot of Doom 21:49, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Not From Radcliffe
[edit]I was confused by the radcliffe connection, i checked the 808 states message boards were someone asked the question to band member graham.
"Ive know idea where theyve got Radclif from..Martin was from Bolton ,I was in Levenshulme aND GERALD WAS IN RUSHOLME WHEN WE STARTED,and we started in central MCR in the studio on Tariff Street called Spirit, its now known as SSR and is still functioning. we later used a studio in Bury called Square One,but thats the only Bury connection. i think the radcliffe reference should be removed as there is no evidence for it. i think radcliffe was added in this edit: "10 August 2006 62.25.109.194"
- I have taken 'Formed' in Radcliffe and Bury out. They were not formed in Radcliffe nor Bury as Graham Massey states. They once had a studio in Bury for a while after they were formed, but that is it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.105.138.246 (talk) 18:19, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Merge
[edit]I can't really see any point having a separate article for the band's discography. Neither the discography nor the main band article are very long, and half of the discography is already in the 808 State article anyway.--Michig (talk) 07:42, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Face to Face?
[edit]Was just reading on the "Face to Face" wiki page that 808 State remixed the Batman Returns song by Siouxsie & the Banshees. Any idea what the remix(es) was/were titled?~ Fighter4luv (talk) 12:11, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Semi-protected edit request on 21st December 2014
[edit]As a Japanese vandal continues to produce vandalism on nearly ALL 808 state articles, isn't it time that some of the articles of the band need to be protected? Thanks!

kit list
[edit]Looking back, 808 State seems to favor instruments that were a bit "retro," falling from favor with others -- Don Solaris stands out in memory. While not perhaps necessary album-by-album, any gear specifically noted by the group could be added to the entry.
And as with other "electronic music" groups, it's noted only with something akin to chagrin that Massey regularly plays guitar or saxophone, and Barker electric bass.

Speedy deletion nomination of State to State (808 State albums)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on State to State (808 State albums) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 64.229.90.172 (talk) 22:12, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
