Onyx
Why is there no mention of Onyx in here? 50 was featured on the song React off of the album Shut em Down (1998) he was also in the video for it, where everyone else was playing hockey on ice, and 50 was the only one not on skates (he was in the penalty box perhaps suggesting that he can not skate???) Someone said he was rapping solo since 1999, but Shut em down came out in 1998, so this would mean the first time anyone heard 50 was with Onyx. There was also the fued with Sticky and Fredro, but they were not that popular and I believe they were unofficially squashed. Also Sticky and Fredro were supposed to record a diss to 50 called 'Sorry Mrs. Jackson' but they never did it, (this was about 2 years before Jadakiss's 'Sorry Miss Jackson') yuyiuyiyoiupoipoipoipoipoipikpipk
Obvious mischief on Wikipedia
If there is a moderator reading this would you please remove the statement on the 50 Cent article stating that he briefly attended military flight school at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma? He would have had to first attend college and get a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force and clearly that is crap.

Interesting Incident in England
Perhaps someone could add this incident to the page [url]http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,14842,00.html[url] 11:59, 19/04/2006
-Why did you say 50 was shot 3 times. He was shot nine times!!! Him getting shot 3 times is a rumer it has not been proved true!! I have seen his wounds on tv the one on his face, his hand, his chest, his arm, and his back.thats 5 more then 3. the other 4 are like in his hip, and upper leg!! I also saw a hospital report that said he got shot 9 times!!
50 vs Kanye
once again kanye west and 50 cent does not have a feud. Kanye has recently decided to join with G-Unit, even admitting that 50 is a better rapper than him.
Seriously!!!? Where did you here that? Didn't Kanye insult 50? Post a citation and let me see that. I can only believe that if I see it.
50 Cent, a gangster from New York
Some people are saying that 50 Cent can't be 50 Cent. Why? Because in New York there was a gangster called 50 Cent.
- You're brand new to this information, aren't you? Yes, there was a "50 Cent," the stick-up kid, the same guy that Curtis Jackson took his name from. GFG. MOD 00:08, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

The Infobox has an error
50 Cent has been active as a solo artist since 1999, hit first hit was "How To Rob". He just crossed over into mainstream in 2003. Technically it was 2002, with "Wanksta"
Another error I have noticed is that it says he takes pride in surviving after he was shot 9 times (not exact words obviously), however that is not true. It has been documented and proven that he was shot at 9 times, but only 3 bullets actually hit him. He was struck once in each leg and once in the jaw.
Yes. It is obvious he takes no pride in it, even though his character in Bulletproof is shot eight to nine times, or so, and in Get Rich or Die Trying, Marcus is shot at around 8 - 9 times, and only around three of the bullets actually hit. Face it, he thinks he's awesome for that. He has it featured in almost anything he does. Infact, listen to the song Hustler's Ambition, the exact lyrics in the third verse are "Them hollow tips bent me up, but I'm back in shape". Really. Though, I'm sure he could've only been hit three times in reality, but I've never exactly cared to look up Curtis Jackson's medical records, in all truth.
OK What does it take to make an article?
This article is terrible! I don't understand this! You poeple are not using this Wikipedia wisely! Tell me this who started this! As far is it goes: Officially, Mobb Deep, Olivia, M.O.P. and Spider Loc are signed to G-Unit. M.O.P. and Spider Loc has not officially been apart of Interscope yet, so therefore it's still in the air. You are turning this article into a fansite. Look At the The DO NOTs at Wikipedia. I would like to see improvements in this article. Not a blovating page of nonsense. Thanks. LILVOKA.
Rumors
Ok. lets clear this up
1. Mike Knox is not signed to G-Unit he is just some guy who gives a shout out to g-unit websites
2. Paul Wall was in Ashanti's recent single "Still On It", and was featured in the "Stop Snitchin, Stop Lyin" soundtrack, which clears him up. 50 Cent may have approached him at the Vibe Awards or he didnt, he still isn't signing
3. Kool G Rap's wife Ma Baker just signed to The Black Wall Streets official producer Nu Jerzey Devil' record label Livelihood Entertainment, so Kool G Rap is not signing to G-Unit
4. Keyshia Cole is not signing to G-Unit, nor is Olivia being dropped
5. Lloyd Banks does not want to leave G-Unit, that was a rumour from The Source
6. The B.G. should still be in Rumors section since he still has his own label Chopper City and is not signing anywhere until he releases his album in late February.
7. Jayo Felony is signed to G-Unit.
8. 40 Glocc should really be in the Joint Venture section considering that Lil Scrappy and Lil John are and there signed to a brach of G-Unit, and 40 Glocc is also signed to Infamous Records
9. People should only put artists that have been comfirmed in the G-Unit, G-Unit South and West sections, and people that have not been confirmed in the Rumors section.
10. People should credit their sources not like people who have claimed that Lil Scrappy is a member of Trillville, which is ridiculous.
11. There should be a Producers section, look at the Aftermath wikipedia.
The G-Unit
Includes:
- 50 Cent
- Lloyd Banks
- Mobb Deep
- Tony Yayo
- Olivia
- Young Buck
- Spider Loc
- M.O.P.
Note: The Game for the time being until Interscope releases a press statement is still on G-Unit. This is a fact. Mase is still signed to Bad Boy, it's still in talks to release him from the label. Lil' Scrappy is working with G-Unit but it's not clear on where it stands. Kool G Rap, Lil' Jon are not on G-Unit B.G. is currently in talks with G-Unit, but as of today not a member. So therefore, in two weeks this article will be improved to a standard. G-Unit South and G-Unit West are possible establishments but when I go to the website there are no official Interscope links. That is a fansite! When SOHH.com, Allhiphop.com, MTV or reliable sources tell something about what 50 Cent does, then you could add the link and the fact. There should not be a mess of information that is not even comfirmed or validated by the rapper or label. If there are any questions with this article, please talk to me! LILVOKA

His "rapper name" is Fifty Cent.

Let's get this biography to an 'A' Class
The article was rated a 'B' because "general biographical material is scarce." So I've expanded much of the info under 'Biography'. Before the expansion, most of this biography was about his controversies. If we can add more sources to the 'Controversies' & even possibly create a seperate article for it, that would be a huge improvement. There's still work to do but it can be done. 50 is constantly getting attacked. Its sad that he gets harassed for his un offensive views in the United States.
I agree we should put a section for Political Views as its very pertinent and relevant. I think it can be done in a NPOV way. I don't think it should remain under the section "Other controversies" as that gives it more of non-neutral point of view in my opinion. Something like below should be fine...
'The rapper is a supporter of President Bush. The rapper has defended the Bush administration's efforts to provide relief during the Katrina crisis and has been publicly critical of rapper Kanye West's unscripted suggestion during a Katrina Charity Event that President Bush is a racist. The rapper has suggested that had he not been barred from voting due to his conviction that he would have voted for President Bush in 2004. The rapper has referred to President Bush as "incredible" and "sees in him everything I am".

There are severe problems with the first paragraph. Adding personal views, rhetoric, and copyright violations isn't vandalism. In general, most of the advice given in this comment, where it is accurate, would be better off on the talk page. Test edits and apparent vandalism are better addressed on the user's talk page or, where it becomes severe, by semi-protection for a few days.

Controversy
This section needs to get condensed down considerably. I do not believe it is neccessary to extensively document the events of every feud he's been involved in. The section could probably be cut down to a quarter of its current size without losing much. EvilCouch 10:03, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
It is absurd that the "controversy" section does not detail the number of protests against 50 or the efforts to censor and/or ban his music, if not his actual physical presence from venues or entire countries, due to the high degree to which 50 and G-Unit depict a "gangsta" image with all attendant violent implications. Regardless of the actual merit of these events, they are a chapter in this history and are very much missing from this article as a piece of discussion. Honest popular culture discussion of 50 is not possible without noting the degree of opposition he has faced and noting that he has employed some of the strongest imagery in mainstream hip hop that we've seen since the days of the Geto Boys, after a solid period where these depictions had seemingly fallen out of favour among mainstream hip hop channels. ano3243234 23:27, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Also you need to change at the summer jam concert that rapper Domination and Bang 'Em Smurf were present at the concert along with other members of there entourage. 50 cent notice this and then poured water on them which led to members of Domination and Bang 'Em Smurf to start throwing chairs onto the stage. Young Buck, 50 cent, and security began to throw the chairs back at them. This led to Bang'Em Rushing the left side of the fence and rushing backstage. G-Unit continued to perform there set with the crowd enjoying there whole set. At the end of there set he says "Do y'all want to see "Step Step,Side to Side" come out and perform or do yall want to see G-Unit tear this place down some more" the crowd laughed Where he then dropped the mic and walked off stage with the rest of g-unit. Following this most of the crowd left because R.Kelly was performing last. This is accurate information because A.) Other Nicknames
Other nicknames include Ferrari F50 and Mr. Ferrari. Someone should add that to the beginning of the article.
In his song "Wanksta," 50 Cent says "It's 50 aka Ferrari F-50" and in the new song from Eminem, 50 Cent, Cashis, and Lloyd Banks, "You Don't Know," Eminem refers to 50 Cent as Mr. Ferrari.
It IS one of his niknames, ferarri f-50 is also mentioned in "You Don't Know" on the version with Tony Yayo commenting (yeahs and whats basically) in the background, in the end, Yayo says the names of the people in the song and doesnt say 50, but ferarri f50, he says "You know what this is... Shady (repeat),G-Unit Aftermath, Lloyd Banks, Ca$his, Marshall Mathers, Ferarri F-50, its a movement (repeat), you cant stop it! Talk of New York Tony Yayo (repeat)!"
If no one is going to make changes then I think this article should be unlocked.
Disambiguation
Curtis Jackson is also the name of a Bermudian cricketer, see Curtis Jackson (cricketer). I accept he is nowhere near as notable as 50 Cent, but I do think there should be a way of finding the cricketer by typing his name in. There are two ways to do this: turn Curtis Jackson into a disambiguation page, or put at the top Curtis Jackson redirects here. For the Bermudian cricketer, see Curtis Jackson or something of that ilk. Any preferences as to which route I go for? jguk 19:21, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

shooting
50 Cent was shot up 3 days before the Destiny Child's music video "Thug Luv" in front of his grandmother's house in Queens, New York, but is stated that he was shot at nine times and three hit him, but his autobigrophy book from pieces to weights and other books about him say he was shot nine times instead of three. You will find the truth about this shooting in the chapter of "From Pieces to Weights": The shooter was on me emptying bullets and I had to go to the gym to get my legs back into it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xthakendyshopboi (talk • contribs) 16:51, 2 January 2007.
50 cent was shot nine times. one bullet to each inner thigh, one to the left side of the face, then six times in the back. he got shot in the thighs first, he fell onto his stomach and was then shot six times in the back, he managed to turn over to his side, that's when he was shot in the face. he was supposed to be shot in the head, but the shooters aim was off by a long run!
Although 50 Cent was shot nine times, the above paragraph is incorrect. You are somewhat describing the scene from his semi-autobiographical movie, but In reality he was in the backseat of a car when he was shot, not outside of it. Tysis 19:17, 20 April 2007
Although it was definite that he was shot mutliple times, the amount of bullets fired and even the amounts of wounds sustained by 50 Cent has been a point of controversy. 50 Cent himself has been unable to prove that he was shot 9 times, as he demonstrated that he was shot a total of 6 times in a recent Allhiphop.com interview on youtube (actually only displaying 3 total bullet marks). (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j666qzRC2gI)
Shooting numbers
First of all, I'm not a 50 fanatic but regarding this issue of how many times he was actually shot, there was an AOL interview in which he answered questions from fans. One fan asked him up front if he was really shot 9 times. Well actually the question was "Did you really get shot 8 times? to which 50 reponded with "9 times on May 24, 2000 I got shot… I was in the hospital for like 13 days...". When I first started editing this article, it said he was shot in April, which was incorrect. It also said he was only shot in the jaw and legs, which was also incorrect. Spellcast 10:29, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well I originally had him being shot several times in the lead, someone changed it to an exact number. I just put back in several times, I'll put in that hdden shit that warns people not to alter the sentence with numbers until we get this resolved. Tayquan hollaMy work 10:42, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
This MTV article is probably the most reliable initial report (many outlets get their info from MTV). It's dated May 25; one day after the shooting. It says he was shot "repeatedly in the legs and once in the jaw". That doesn't mean he was only shot there; he was in hospital at the time. In the Get Rich or Die Tryin' video (a documentary DVD, not the movie), he shows a missing tooth, 2 bullet wounds on his arm, and 1 on his hand. This Rolling Stone interview further says he was shot in the hip, chest, and calf. This TIME interview also says he was shot in hip. So we have: 2 on arm, 1 on hand, 1 on face, 1 on hip, 1 on chest, and at least 2 on legs which makes at least 8 shots. So you see where this is going? These were the most reliable sources I could find & they lend support to 9 shots instead of the previously stated 3. Spellcast 15:14, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- The police report on The Smoking Gun says he was shot 3 times. This is obviously more accurate than the MTV report and this number is being widely disseminated around the Net. The article should at least mention the controversy. Vagary 19:22, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the statement: It was widely reported that all nine shots hit: in the hand (through right thumb and pinky), arm, hip, legs, chest, and left cheek. However, The Smoking Gun published an alleged police report stating that he was only hit three times, implying media confusion between the number of rounds fired and hit. This is misleading because it implies that there is a contradiction between media reports and The Smoking Gun, when there isn't. TSG says three shots hit the victim on the right, which is consistent with those interviews saying he was shot three times on the right side of his body (twice on right arm and once on right hand). Those media reports cited above acknowledges that info and properly expands on it, thus making TSG info redundant. Spellcast 02:44, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

- The TSG report is being widely interpreted as stating that Jackson was only hit by three of the bullets, to claim that they are consistent is OR and the controversy is notable. TSG is a more direct source than media reports and therefore must at least be mentioned, if not given precedence. The news stories linked to by this article contradict each other (Spellcast's reasoning above is OR). Besides, if 9 shots were fired, 9 of them hit Jackson, and 1 more hit Alton Brown, then 1 must be a Magic bullet. Vagary 03:35, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- It is not original research if it's a logical deduction based on fully attributed data. TSG report is correct in saying he was shot 3 times on the right side of his body, and those above reports correctly expand on the full extend of the injuries. Those 9 shots that were fired is referring to the shots fired on 50 himself and not Brown. Where exactly do they contradict? If there is a contradiction, it should be corrected immediately, but I see none in those articles cited above. Also, you're making the assumption that just because TSG mentions 3 shots hitting him, it means that only 3 hit him. This can't be the case when you have other sources including a video of 50 showing a face wound. Spellcast 03:53, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Besides, if 9 shots were fired, 9 of them hit Jackson, and 1 more hit Alton Brown, then 1 must be a Magic bullet. Vagary 03:35, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- It's not deduction to accumulate the hits mentioned in all news stories. Omission of hits is significant, especially when the article is detailed enough to imply an exhaustive list. Here are the relevant sections from some of the currently cited sources:
- Many of the cited sources are interviews, where fact checkers are primarily worried about verifying with the interviewee. This Wikipedia article is consistently cited as a source in online debates on this issue, so we must be very careful not to jump to conclusions. Regardless of what you believe the number is, you must admit that this issue is controversial enough that the police report is notable. Vagary 04:34, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- I can see the different places where he was shot, but where are the contradictions? Just because it says he was shot "repeatedly in the legs" in one article and "once in each leg" in another article doesn't make it a contradiction. I don't see a controversy in this; none of those sources mention anything about a "controversy" about the number of times he was shot, and therefore saying it's a controversy is an opinion. Spellcast 05:08, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- "once in each leg and once in the jaw" = 3. Omissions matter: if an exhaustive list doesn't include his chest, you cannot simply add another article that says he was hit in the chest. We at least need to acknowledge that the reporting is sketchy. If there's no controversy, why does there need to be a warning in the Lead? These vandals are editing based on legitimate sources, so the article itself needs to address this so we can stop defending the Lead. Vagary 08:23, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- The hidden message in the intro is to warn people not to alter the information until this has been sorted out on this talk page- not because there's a controversy. I've already stated this before but that Smoking Gun article clearly does not explain the full extent of the shots when we've at least got a video of him showing 4 wounds. The media interviews and The Smoking Gun page are not in contradiction. How those articles I cited above are in contradiction have yet to be explained. Spellcast 08:38, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Spellcast 05:08, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
This was also added: The Smoking Gun published a police report confirming three of those hits. Does this suddenly mean that the details from Time, Rolling Stone, MTV, and the video of him showing his wounds are unconfirmed? TSG article can't possibly be listing all the shots when you've at least got a video of 50 showing at least 4 wounds. Saying "3 shots were confirmed" merely repeats the info cited from those sources, so I removed that line while still keeping TSG ref for extra verifiability. Spellcast 04:17, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
MediaTakeOut is cited by two other Wikipedia articles. Therefore, I believe this article is a legitimate citation as evidence that a controversy does exist (but not evidence on the controversial facts themselves). I'm trying to offer solutions to the dispute that resulted in the warning in the Lead. Consensus on this had been stalled for a month, possibly because Spellcast reverts every attempt at WP:NPOV? Vagary 08:36, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- Just because it's cited by other articles doesn't make it a reliable source. If there was a controversy about the numbers, it would have already been mentioned in reputable sources. You mentioned above that vandals were making legitimate edits. I strongly disagree- chances are those vandals already made up their mind about the shooting beforehand and added info based on their personal bias. Here's proof: look at the diff of the last few people who've tried to change the shooting numbers. 1 2. They completely overlook the info in those sources above because, to put it simply, they just hate the guy for whatever reason. Have you watched that video I showed above? Do you think he's lying in front the camera? Spellcast 08:57, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- The video should be cited by the article, then. Vagary 23:00, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't cite the video because the face shot was already verified in the existing sources, which is the same reason why I removed TSG ref as it was already verified in the previous sources. Spellcast 06:32, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- The video should be cited by the article, then. Vagary 23:00, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Let's say there was a police report saying a victim lost 4 fingers in an accident & that victim shows 8 missing fingers in a video. That doesn't mean the police report is wrong, it just means they didn't show the full extent of the injuries. And let's say there was a sentence saying a victim lost 8 fingers in an accident (cited with sources). And then someone adds 4 lost fingers were confirmed in a police report (cited with a police report). I'm pretty sure I don't have to explain the absurdity in adding that 2nd sentence; the info & police source is redundant because it was already explained & expanded on in the previous sources. Just because TSG says 50 was shot 3 times on the right side of his body, it doesn't mean he was only shot 3 times when there are other sources explaining more wounds, including that video. Spellcast 20:19, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm guessing that you must've spent some time googling for the specific purpose of finding an article that says he was shot 3 times. This communicates one of two things: 1) You believe the information I cited above (video, interviews etc.) is absolutely false or 2) You may not like the guy so are starting off with a conclusion and trying to find articles to support your conclusion. Either way, this reinforces my comment that those sources I cited above are being very overlooked. Spellcast 09:31, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- There is disagreement here and many other places on the Net on how the factual data is being interpreted, and a lot of can easily be misinterpreted (9-shots vs 9-hits, scars from multiple shooting incidents, etc.). I want this article to be rigorous enough that it can dispel rumours, not be an eternal vandal battleground. I'm sceptical of the way celebrity brands are created in general: the 50 Cent brand's value is increased by each hit and the media is complicit in that value creation. I'm probably too into playing Vandal Advocate to fairly weigh the evidence, so I'm going to ask for an outside opinion... 23:08, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what celebrity brand value has to do with this discussion. The central issue is whether TSG page explains the full extent of the injuries and it's already been established that it doesn't. Even you've acknowledged it. 1) You first said he was shot 3 times on the right side of his body (as said in TSG). 2) Then you say "once in each leg and once in the jaw = 3". His left leg and left jaw is obviously not the right side of his body. So when you say he was shot 3 times, which one of those 2 comments of yours are you referring to? Spellcast 02:16, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
I've examined the last 1167 edits (up to February 27, 2007) I could only find 2 edits to those shooting numbers (excluding yours), which are shown in the 2 diffs I gave above. This is by far from an "eternal vandal battleground". The 1st vandal changed the places he was shot to hand, arm & hip. The 2nd vandal changed it to hand, arm & left cheek. Then you came along & cited TSG, which says "3 times on right" side of body. Then you said "once in each leg and once in the jaw = 3". Left leg & left jaw obviously isn't the right of the body. So is it just me or are there some people who came here with their mind already made up about this? Also, those claims about scars from multiple shootings/misinterpretations/media being "complicit in value creation" etc. is not mentioned any reliable sources. Spellcast 18:59, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Cam'ron beef
he now has beef with cam'ron and has released a diss video. it states that cam'ron is no longer fit to lead Dipset and that Jim Jones should take over for him,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_poeloXyDmA&eurl=
yea you should add that into the article
There is no citation needed for the Kock record comment that he made, the interview is available widely on the internet.
thats true, but there is also widespread of the video too...why not link both the video and the phone call on hot 97? - name01870
there a new video called buck the world on youtube where the end he take shots at even insinuating he has aids- Debo7 (3/4/07)
It should be added that 50 Cent made a diss song dissing Camron called Funeral Music.
Shooting And Certification
I don't know about being shot 9 times, but at least you can tell he has been shot more than 3 times due to the fact that he has a bullet wound on his back in the candy shop video along with the one to the jaw and two legs and also in the first all eyes on me documentary by mtv he revealed the bullet wound in his hand that entered his thumb and exited his pinky as evidenced here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loGRWmeuADY
and what about about his album certification, i thought wikipedia only went by U.S. sales not worldwide if so then 50s GRODT has only gone about 6x-7x Platinum, not Diamond for his worldwide amount of 12x Platinum same thing with the massacre which went 9x Platinum worldwide and if that's so then 50 would have 2 Diamond albums since Eminem's the marshall mathers LP went 9x Platinum and was certified Diamond Black Panther7490 20:42, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
This bullshit about him only getting shot and hit 3 times is just that. seriously, its pathetic an encyclopedia can't look at all the facts that go to show he was hit 9 times. LETS SEE THE HOSPITAL RECORDS.--Donnie from the mean streets of Boston, KY 19:09, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
George Bush Support
Why is this considered a controversy? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.27.168.204 (talk) 22:59, 24 February 2007 (UTC).
I agree. 50 cent's support of mainstream political figure should not be considered controversial.Rugz 04:36, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
50 is only being sarcastic, you people really need to realize that. Son of Kong
This was added again here but this time, under a new section. This article doesn't seem worthy of a whole new section about his "Political views" when the most he said about Bush is like one or two sentences. And that last paragraph ("Some contend that these statements were made sarcasticly") seems like original research. "Some say" is a weasel word and AWW says that while it may be true, it's useless and misrepresentative. Spellcast 16:32, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- There should be some small mention of it but it belongs in a personal life section or some other new section to put his off the stage activities. The wording that was in there needed work though. Tayquan hollaMy work 23:33, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- I do think it goes in there somewhere, because it made a bit of a splash and so is a notable comment. --Delirium 04:10, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- The article badly needs a personal life anyway. Tayquan hollaMy work 12:33, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
If it does deserve inclusion, then it should probably have a brief mention in a personal life section. Dedicating a whole heading to it gives the false impression that it's a much bigger issue than it really is. Spellcast 11:51, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Year of Birth
50 Cent was born in July 6 1975! Not in 1976! Can you stop keep changing it!- SCB '92 12:06, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
When it comes to his birthday, the most reliable source should be used in accordance with the Wikipedia:Reliable sources guideline. In this case, an interview with a magazine (Rolling Stone) stating his birth date as July 6, 1976 should be a more reliable source than IMDB, which uses secondary sources for its information. Unless there's a more reliable source, perhaps his autobiography, his birth date (July 6 '76) as said in the Rolling Stone interview should stay. Spellcast 18:00, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Also, if you look at a review of his autobiography 'From Pieces to Weight' on Amazon, you'll see an editorial review of the book (Publishers Weekly) saying he was born on 1976. If anyone has evidence to suggest otherwise, please post it here. Spellcast 12:41, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
He was born on july 6, 1975. It says it in his mug shot, that used to posted on this site.
- The mugshot doesn't say his birth date at all. The '76 year may very well be incorrect, but if 1975 is going to be put up, all I ask is a reliable source/evidence. Perhaps an arrest record. Spellcast 02:07, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
After seeing his apparant arrest record here (ID: 94-R-6378), which should be a more reliable source, I've changed the year back to 1975. Rolling Stone should've got their facts right & it seems the people who supposedly reviewed his book looked up unreliable info on the net. Spellcast 17:30, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Preme team???????
Was 50 cent a member of the Preme team?????? Did he snitch his former grue to the cops with a song called ghetto quran??????????? yes he was a member of the preme team but when he made ghetto quran the people he talked about was already in jail homie
Gerald " Prince " Miller was in jail but the founder of the preme team Kenneth Supreme was still in the streets when ghetto quaran came out.
I think that someone should add to the article that fifty was a member o';[bhy;l f4.l,ioxs2mkoQOnmjsxe,.rblh/;j.,'kl
???????f the preme team.
yeah you is right about supreme bein in the street but one time already knew that he was a drug leader.
Police knew that supreme was a drug leader. Police did maybe suspect supreme about something. On that song ghetto quran fifty says that everything that police suspected supreme about was true. So in a way fifty snitched. It is funy that supreme has never said that fifty snitched. All these rappers that say fifty is a snitch. Why now? Fifty came out in 2003 and nobody called him a snitched back then so why now? I think that no one can say that fifty snitched and that this is a fact. Maybe fifty snitched or he didn"t snitched. How knows what is the truth? Same thing goes on The Game. People talked shit about The Game. Everyone says now that his a fake blood or a stripper then Willy Northpole does a song where he says that the game was a crip and then became a blood. This same thing happend with 2pac and biggie. Pac said that he had sex with biggies wife and east coast said that pac got rapped in jail. So i would say that people need to listen the music and stop listening all these rumors.
"gangsta"
In the opening gangsta is put in parentheses but it's not a quote. I think the parentheses express a negative bias. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.27.168.204 (talk) 19:07, 8 March 2007 (UTC).
Album cover
Someone keeps posting a dubious album cover that seems to be photoshopped from a XXL article here. Whoever made the cover actually did a pretty good job but this isn't the place for posting it, unless it can be confirmed. Spellcast 12:45, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
but that is the actual album cover.
Marquise Jackson
Regarding the merge notice, I agree that Marquise Jackson should be incorporated here, which it already is. While it may be inevitable that his son will eventually become notable, there doesn't seem to be anything he has done to merit an article of his own just yet. Spellcast 08:45, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
ya i agree
- Unless the article has the potential to expand, it should be merged to this one. --Blueag9|Talk| 20:20, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
I agree that the article should be merged.. I don't think that he warrants having an entire article for the couple of lines about him ''Imperious, choleric, irascible, extreme in everything, with a dissolute imagination the like of which has never been seen, atheistic to the point of fanaticism, there you have me in a nutshell.... Kill me again or take me as I am, for I shall not change.'' 12:50, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
After the merge, I've removed the 'Marquise Jackson' section because it simply repeated information I previously added under 'JMJ records'. The Wikipedia Guide to writing better articles says that a "one-sentence paragraph is like a cannon-shot during the performance: it attracts so much attention that it had better be good."
