Requested move 26 January 2018

The result of the move request was: moved. Seems there is agreement to move to the two-letter suffix "rd". The back-n-forth has only occurred once, 2009 to "rd" and 2017 back to "d", and looking at the rather strange entries in the navbar at the bottom of the page, it appears that only those unit numbers ending in "2" and "3" get the one-letter suffixes. I'll update that navbar as part of the page-move cleanup. ♥Happy ♥Hearts ♥Day! (closed by page mover) Paine Ellsworth put'r there 16:58, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
3d Weather Squadron → 3rd Weather Squadron – The spelling "3d" instead of "3rd" in the title appears to be a typo. 130.20.35.161 (talk) 18:32, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Comment. It's not a typo. See the patch illustrated in the article. "3d" and "3rd" are both abbreviations for "third", although my impression is "3d" is becoming more obsolete over time, especially outside the military. The article title has been moved back and forth over the years. I'm not sure whether one is any better than the other. Station1 (talk) 22:43, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Neutral / Support. While it's not a typo, "3d" and "2d" (in place of "3rd" and "2nd") are becoming obsolete. The title of the page, to someone unfamiliar to military things, is confusing and seems like a typo. The page has had both names, but "3rd" is the most recognizable to all. Request to be moved 13 Oct 2020
[edit]The name of the squadron has been changed to the 3rd Combat Weather Squadron. I suggest the page be moved to align with the new name. Philmont237 (talk) 17:04, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
