Why exactly do we need to ignore MOS:INFOBOXFLAG HERE?

[edit]

The only reason for adding flags here is for decoration. WP:OVERLINK also applies for major country names, so are you admitting that no-one knows where India and Sri Lanka are?Spike 'em (talk) 08:30, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

When does TOOSOON end?

[edit]

This is broader question I suppose. The AFD for TOOSOON back in November seemed correct given what was known at the time, and may well be now - however when does it stop being the case? For many tournaments it is at the end of the previous one, but that would not seem correct here as the initial rounds of the 2024 finals are the main qualifiers for this edition - people are going to add qualifiers once they are determined through that process. I would note that the 2024 page became "active" before the end of the 2022 edition for this reason. There appears to be no guidance on this which suggests the page will just be activated at various times before now and June 2024 and AFDed (which appears to be an issue with TOOSOON) 110.33.28.251 (talk) 12:17, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Number of qualification berths

[edit]

Is there a source for the number of qualification berths per continental qualifier tournament being the same as in 2024? The automatic qualifiers in 2026 are from a different continent than they were in 2024 so that could perhaps mean the number of spots from qualifying could be different too? European qualifiers confirmed for 2026 T20 men's World Cup officially by ICC.

Premature to note qualifiers based on rankings

[edit]

I think at this point it is premature to confirm the 3 qualifiers via rankings- whilst Pakistan and New Zealand are certainties, Scotland could easily overtake Ireland when the rankings are updated on 30 June? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.250.0.98 (talk) 04:03, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

At the least, we need a note that this is based on ratings as of some prior date. I agree that it is premature, and it's also lacking citations. I'm inclined to remove all three teams in the absence of sourcing. —C.Fred (talk) 18:06, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ireland I agree with, but think it's both evidently and mathematically impossible that Pakistan and New Zealand can't be caught by Zimbabwe. Any team still playing have already qualified so it's beyond mathematically secure for those two, but I think Scotland have taken Ireland from some games.
Remove Ireland 100%. 90.254.90.162 (talk) 06:45, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Combining Asia and EAP

[edit]

@Pkr206 Your edit summary states "ICC clearly stated at the Colombo meeting that three teams will come from Asia and EAP." That is exactly what I am asking for in my edit summaries: provide the source for this change. If you do not have a source, then do not make this change based on your statement alone. We need a reliable source confirming that three teams in total will come from either EAP or Asia and detailing the format of the combined qualifier. Currently, we have two separate qualifiers listed and corresponding separate pages. Your statement in the edit summaries without a reliable source is insufficient.
