Gavin Bena
[edit]Gavin Bena added himself as a candidate and cited an article written by himself as a source. He is not a major candidate. ElectivireMax (talk) 13:17, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
- Incorrect, I did not add myself as a candidate. This is easily verifiable by looking at the logs. And even if that were true, it does not make me any less of a candidate. Horizon Falling (talk) 20:48, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
- you aren't a major enough candidate to be included on the list. if every single filed candidate for every single state was on every election page, it would be a nightmare. I applaud your efforts, but your candidacy is not significant enough to be included on this page. ElectivireMax (talk) 20:55, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
- All the candidates are listed on every other election page. You may call it a nightmare but you are directly contradicting strong Wikipedia precedent. Horizon Falling (talk) 21:17, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
- An Op-Ed from the candidate isn't a 2nd hand source, the requirement for notability for election candidates. Typically a list of candidates from the Secretary of State of candidates that are on the ballot once candidates can file suffices as a 2nd hand source. Kirby1706 (talk) 21:55, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
- You are clearly not familiar with Wiki policy. Second-hand RS is needed and you have none. Cpotisch (talk) 17:04, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- have you even filed to run? or is this just to boost your ego. ElectivireMax (talk) 02:15, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
Bena does not seem notable and this is a clear COI. Dcpoliticaljunkie (talk) 15:51, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- If the list of candidates from the Missouri Secretary of State office does not suffice as a secondhand source for notability, why does the same standard not also apply to other candidates, such as Monique Williams on this page and the candidate lists of every other election page? Yes, it is a COI and I will not edit the page. Horizon Falling (talk) 21:19, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- Agree re: Williams. I removed. Dcpoliticaljunkie (talk) 13:16, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- And why does the same standard not apply to lists of candidates on other pages, which have always been sourced from the SOS filing list? Horizon Falling (talk) 06:30, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- I don't track these pages closely for down-ballot races. Feel free to leave other instances on my talk page. Dcpoliticaljunkie (talk) 16:39, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

- Agree re: Williams. I removed. Dcpoliticaljunkie (talk) 13:16, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
