Editors who violate any listed restrictions may be blocked by any uninvolved administrator, even on a first offense.
An editor must be aware before they can be sanctioned.
With respect to any reverting restrictions:
Edits made solely to enforce any clearly established consensus are exempt from all edit-warring restrictions. In order to be considered "clearly established" the consensus must be proven by prior talk-page discussion.
Edits made which remove or otherwise change any material placed by clearly established consensus, without first obtaining consensus to do so, may be treated in the same manner as clear vandalism.
Clear vandalism of any origin may be reverted without restriction.
Reverts of edits made by anonymous (IP) editors that are not vandalism are exempt from the 1RR but are subject to the usual rules on edit warring. If you are in doubt, contact an administrator for assistance.
If you are unsure if your edit is appropriate, discuss it here on this talk page first. Remember: When in doubt, don't revert!
Do we know for sure that this was committed by IS? The fact that they claimed it doesn't inherently confirm their role in the attack (see their false claim of responsibility for the Las Vegas shooting). LouMichel (talk) 17:20, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Until the investigation and court verdict or acceptance of responsibility for the bombing from another group, IS-KP is currently responsible for the bombing. Parham wiki (talk) 18:39, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is currently "believed" to be responsible by local authorities. That isn't the same as actually being responsible. We don't know for sure, and there have been instances where ISIS claimed responsibility because they thought it would boost their reputation in some way. So they are a flawed source. I don't know how or why it happened, nor how to reinstate the links. The article also exists in Urdu, Farsi, Chinese, Russian, Ukrainian, Indonesian, French & Uzbek. Those versions link to each other, but they no longer link to this article. I've not encountered this problem before. Jim 2 Michael (talk) 21:38, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I had a closer look. What happened was JBW deleted the page on 7 August as a page created by some sockmaster I have never heard about. Whereas this mass deletion was probably justified, specifically this page had a lot of edits by users in good standing, and, indeed, within minutes it was restored by Mackensen. However, a removal of the page automatically case a removal of sitelink from Wikidata, where they are stored [1] (JBW probably has not even noticed). But the restoration of the page did not automatically add the sitelink on Wikidata back. This had to be done manually, and it is often done by Wikidata users in semi-automatic regime (bots are looking for such loose links). It was indeed added today by Τάρας στον Παρνασσό[2]. Bottomline: Deletions with subsequent restorations ALWAYS lead to sitelink removal, and these links must be added back manually (ping me if you are not comfortable to do it yourself next time), but for the English Wikipedia links they typically get added back in a few days.
