Who is the driver? Who is the co-driver? According to the press release at WRC.com, new coverages report Lindholm as the driver and Hämäläinen as the co-driver. However, according to the official entry list or even the championship standings at WRC.com and fia.com, it seems that Hämäläinen is the driver while Lindholm is the co-driver. Is that a mistake by the staff? Or just Lindholm and Hämäläinen doing it on purpose? Unnamelessness (talk) 15:10, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
They entered as Hämäläinen (driver) and Lindholm (co-driver) on paper. In reality it was Lindholm driving the whole rally, as regulations does not hinder the co-driver from driving the whole rally and vice versa... But due to this entry, it should be Hämäläinen scoring the drivers' points, Lindholm scores co-drivers' points. Why they did this I guess is related to article 6.4.4: The WRC3 Champion titles for Drivers and Co-Drivers will be awarded to the driver and co-driver who have scored the highest number of points from 5 of the 7 rallies which they have entered to score points. In the remaining rallies they may neither score nor detract points from other registered drivers. Lindholm had already contested 7 events as driver prior to Catalunya so he was not scoring points anyway, so they entered Hämäläinen as driver. Kovpastish (talk) 18:55, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Lindholm explains here why they did this: to avoid starting further back (as non-priority driver) with inferior road conditions and to set competitive times in RC2. Kovpastish (talk) 19:10, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
