The WHO situation reports went from 705 for 4 days to 706 on 2nd of March. I'm not sure how the timing works but it was reported there was one case in a quarantine officer working on the ship that may have been counted in the country figures rather than international. Total tested exceeds capacity of ship?

The latest data (Feb 26) on this page says 4,061 people aboard the ship have been tested. But according to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_Princess_(ship) this ship holds

Capacity: 2,670 passengers

Crew: 1,100 crew

Also, February 26 data is pretty stale. Can we get some more recent data? Herdrick (talk)

Yeah, should be 8 deaths, I compiled these from various sources, mostly the Japanese health press releases:

1. 87yo M from Japan, died 20/02/20

2. 84yo F from Japan, died 20/02/20

3. 80yo M from Japan, died 23/02/20

4. M in their 80s from Japan, died 25/02/20

5. F in their 70s from Japan, died 28/02/20

6. M in their 70s from UK, died 28/02/20

7. 78yo M from Australia, died 01/03/20

8. M from Hong Kong, died 06/03/20

Dearth of transmission information

@Another Believer: I would strongly suggest that scources, and in particular biomedical sources, be scoured for information regarding how the transmission of the infection was impacted by the quarantining of individuals on the ships. Besides personal contact, was anything learned about other, novel modes of transmission that might be relevant to other mass-isolation situations, like care facilities and detention facilities? Diamond Princess headcount inconsistencies

I read "3,700 passengers and crew were quarantined" yet only on 20 February, we have "3,063 tested, 634 positives Includes 328 asymptomatic cases". Where are gone the 637 missing folks ??? Yug (talk) 00:36, 23 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi. I also read that 4061 on the ship were tested: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1099517/japan-coronavirus-patients-diamond-princess/. Very strange the way the numbers don't even come close to matching. It shows 4061 on the ship were tested/examined on 2/28 and 4061 on the ship were ALSO tested/examined on 3/2. It's all Very fishy. As the page is locked, I cannot add any details about this one. It’s currently docked in Fremantle, Australia, with seven confirmed cases. The West Australian government is refusing to allow anyone to disembark, except in life threatening circumstances.

But the Zaandam and Rotterdam are not the only cruise ships still sailing. On Tuesday, Carnival Corp., which owns nine cruise lines including Holland America, Princess Cruises and Costa Cruises, told the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission that it had more than 6,000 passengers on ships still at sea, although only a portion of these vessels are headed to the U.S.

Update re: ships that were in Australia

I am editing some sections of this article and noted that it has not yet discussed two Royal Caribbean ships: Spectrum and Radiance of the Seas

   While it appears that the Ruby Princess will not be asked to leave Australian waters in the near future, there is still a concern for the crews of five other cruise ships that departed Australian waters over the weekend.

MSC Magnifica - unproven informations/allegations

Information about 250 cases on board of MSC Magnifica is not proven and very harmful. It is based on informations from WA Prime Minister who was scared because of two other ships before Magnifica came with Covid infected passengers.

MSC Magnifica already reached Mediterranean Sea over 2 Weeks after leaving Freemantle and all passengers are ok and there is no infection on board. Ship is heading towards Marseille. I think, if we are thinking about Wiki as an Encyclopedia, there should be only proven facts, not the allegations...Kondi44 (talk) 20:19, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

The message never reached the National Diet. Their brains also don't understand probability theory which is a generic and basic knowledge. Few who know mathematics should understand it by themselves!

Probability theory applies to all physical phenomena (non-simplified actuality). That knowledge isn't COVID-19 specific. They have no excuse. Their stupidity killed more people than the people that would have died if they understood probability theory . (Probably we cannot blame them for not getting the message, because they had thousands of messages. We can blame them for not thinking through.)

Where to add other spreads at sea?

I noticed three minor typos in the “World Dream” section but the article is protected from editing.
