Could we instead say "USA Eastern Standard Time"? This page (and racing series) is watched world wide (and the name of the zone is shared with a few countries).Rapierman (talk) 22:41, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Petty Ware Racing?

[edit]

I understand that the Rick Ware Racing No. 51's charter is leased from Richard Petty Motorsports, but other than on Frontstretch.com, where does it say that the team is officially registered as "Petty Ware Racing"? - Areaseven (talk) 01:43, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It also says so on NASCAR’s official entry lists, like NBC’s Atlanta one. My understanding (believe it’s from Pockrass a while back) is that it’s all RWR prep and everything, Petty Ware Racing is an alliance name that has something to do with charters - don’t know if they’re trying to skirt a rule or what. The most similar instance of this happening recently is the MBM/Mark Thompson stuff, all of Thompson’s starts we’re listed under “Phoenix Air Racing” even though it was all MBM so that the team could get extra new-team tests, etc. Hope that helps. I guess that makes sense. Also, the RWR article will need an overhaul to reflect these changes and include race results. - Areaseven (talk) 04:04, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

TriStar/Obaika/NY Racing/StarCom 99

[edit]

At this point in the year, I think that even if teams had previously announced plans, any team that hasn’t run yet should be taken off the team chart. Chances are it’s going to be Homestead weekend and they’ll still be”TBA”. The StarCom second entry was never formally announced, so I don’t see why that was on to begin with. NY Racing’s sponsor has been on the 52 recently, so I couldn’t say if NY has any plans. Anybody who has followed Obaika since 2016/before has seen the announcement/never show scenario play out multiple times - it’s even rumored Berryhill has completely split from the organization, but I can’t find anything solid on that. And although Pockrass said that TriStar was planning on running a “limited schedule”, it’s better to take them off until they formally announce a date/driver than leave them as TBA. I didn’t want to start an edit war so I took the recent editing conflicts here, any thoughts/replies would be appreciated! Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 02:30, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

:@Willsome429:, I agree. I think we should follow the example of WT:F1, and only add an entry if it is confirmed by a reliable source. We should not be speculating on entries and I feel like deleting all the "TBA" entries should help that. I would also like to point out that entry list on this page does not list a source whatsoever. This is also a problem for previous seasons. Jahn1234567890 (talk) 17:20, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

On the Results and Standings section, it reads both Kevin Harvick and William Byron 5th place in the Hollywood Casino 400, even though Harvick got 9th. NascarFan123456 (talk) 21:05, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

TMT

[edit]

As a preemptive move to avoid edit warring, I’d like to bring the discussion on The Money Team Racing here. The team’s website has removed reference to the Homestead race, leaving no WP:RS to confirm. Leaving the content up as rumor or “wait-and-see” only furthers the reputation that Wikipedia is unreliable and and frankly, a joke. I’d like input from anybody, but especially the two users who keep reverting me, on why the TMT entry should/should not be kept in the part-time teams section of the page. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 13:38, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is no place for speculation. Nothing should be added until they actually enter a race. Jahn1234567890 (talk) 17:58, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
