Penalties and retirements

Firstly, this IP is Prisonermonkeys. Secondly we need a key here. Color symbols are being used without any explanation what they mean. It's most problematic with the tyre symbols. There even were two M's with just different colors. That's insufficient since there are people, like Prisonermonkeys, who don't see all colors or even any at all.Tvx1 13:52, 27 July 2018 (UTC)

The solution is simple. Get rid of the key and remove the colours from the tables. They add nothing to the article that plain text does not already do. Keeping it all is a classic case of over-designing a table. 1.144.108.89 (talk) 14:15, 27 July 2018 (UTC)

@Tvx1 — there was a key. Under the old system, we used to have a coloured badge for each class of competition. For some reason, they were being included in this article with the penalty and retirement tables, which are relatively new additions to rally reports. It's not that it's too colourful, but that it was big—bigger than the tables it was describing—and outdated. All the article needs is a cell with "WRC-2" (or what have you) in it and it's just as effective. 1.129.105.137 (talk) 00:50, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

I would dispute that entirely. The colours have no explanation to them, and as Tvx1 pointed out, some people—myself included—are colour-blind. I only know the colours used are red and green because I know the hexadecimal codes. The bold font doesn't add much of anything, either. About Henri Hokkala

@Pelmeen10, @Tvx1, @1.144.111.110 (prisonermonkeys) — I am a bit confused when I edit J-WRC points regarding Henri Hokkala.

1) WRC official website shows that his category is WRC-3 and J-WRC. Source: wrc.com - startlist

However, e-wrc shows that his category is only WRC-3. Source: ewrc.com - startlist

2) Emil Bergkvist and Ken Torn was awarded 12 and 9 bonus points respectively, total 21, while Rally Finland has 23 stages. Accordingly, two bonus ponits are not awarded.

Interestingly, Henri Hokkala won SS5 and SS6 in J-WRC category, but wrc official website shows that he was not awarded that two bonus points.
