transfers

[edit]

Why is there a separate column for nationality? That looks stupid, the flag should be next to the player. Govvy (talk) 10:47, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it previously to match with the table style used in previous seasons, but it was reverted. OZOO (t) (c) 11:02, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
? Are you that IP? When I went rvv, that's because the transfers table disappeared in some dodgy editing!! Ozoo, it feels a bit like you're claiming ownership of the article, you don't seem to like change do you. Govvy (talk) 13:02, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Are you that IP? No.
feels a bit like you're claiming ownership of the article, you don't seem to like change do you - I do not feel a single edit I have made to this article falls outside of standard Wikipedia policy, and I'll thank you not to make accusations of that sort.
Now, on the subject of the nationality column... OZOO (t) (c) 15:29, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I really don't like ppl that reply RtMs, I wish ppl would talk straight, when I did change it, it went all buggy in preview. Govvy (talk) 15:33, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Overall table

[edit]

Whats the point of that? The same information is covered by the opening paragraph and infobox. Govvy (talk) 19:05, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

First team table.

[edit]

I was looking at the first team table, I was wondering what the two colours are, because I am colour blind so it was a bit confusing. Govvy (talk) 09:29, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Academy players / development squads

[edit]

I really don't see the need to list these guys, unless they make an appearance for the first team, and then you would add that player to the statistics table I really see no point to having these squads in the season page. Govvy (talk) 11:05, 21 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A template for transfers

[edit]

I'd really appreciate any input on a proposed standard going forward for how transfers are listed on club season articles. There is a discussion ongoing here at the moment. Given the implications for this page, I thought it would be best to give a heads up.Domeditrix (talk) 10:41, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Squad statistics table

[edit]

I really don't like the table, it's no good for laptop displays, it's not very user friendly and the bottom totals row doesn't align up. Also why do you have own goals row in it? That looks very strange. Govvy (talk) 12:04, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Without the own goals row, the total number of goals column would not be accurate!... and for what it's worth the table looks absolutely fine on my laptop, the rows align and I find it completely user friendly... but then I don't come on this page just to be negative and change other contributors hard work for no good reason, and threaten other contributors with bans when they make edits in good faith!Manchestercarl (talk) 07:36, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The statistics table bottom row doesn't lineup at all, the first data-point is appearances and not goals, it's set wrong and used incorrectly. Claudio Gomes is in the statistics page for the season, he doesn't need to be listed twice on the page, he isn't an integral part for the first team season. Again I would like to point out that own-goals are negative data and should never be added into a positive data set. Govvy (talk) 09:42, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The totals line up perfectly. Appearances are not added up in the totals column, only goals and cards. In this instance own goals are not a negative data set, they are own goals scored by the opposition for Manchester city, and absolutely have to be included in this total for it to be accurate.
As for your Gomes comment, I don't really have an opinion, other than you should never undo a good faith edit that adds to the page without getting a consensus from this talk page. The statistics page from the season, are a different data set from the all time statistics set where Gomes has been added (it just happens they are the same as he didn't play in previous seasons. As I said, I don't really have an opinion and will go with the consensus of regular contributors opinions on this matter. It was obvious why it had been added (right or wrong), what was 100% wrong was you undoing a good faith edit that a consensus of contributors may think added to the quality of the page.Manchestercarl (talk) 10:17, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I never realised how messed up all the previous seasons look on the statistics, anyway, that's it, I am taking this page off my watchlist, it's horrible to maintain, so many display errors and terrible tables to edit. I really fed up with this article now. Govvy (talk) 10:30, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
For what it's worth it looks beautiful on my laptop - came to the talk page to see if anything else had been said about it! Might have to pinch it to add to the seasons pages I keep up-to-date. Coventryy (talk) 20:27, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
