Similar events
[edit]The similarity with these is quite noticable:
- Golden Temple Occupation, 1982-84
- Waco siege, 1993
- Siege of Lal Masjid, 2007
- Arrest of Sant Rampal, India, 2014
For other similar events see Waco_siege#See_also.
Common elements include a charismatic leader preaches a radical anti-government doctrine, collects arms while the government is unable to determine what to do. The charismatic leader rules over the followers in the compound. Eventually the government is forced to take action. Also notable similarity: the charismatic leader has no exit strategy.
