Acceptance at AFC
[edit]I found this a fine balancng act of acceptance. I think the community will be far better at working through any issues that remain than further iterations of comment/edit between reviewers and the creating editor. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 16:31, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- I am also unsure of the eventual name of this article. The name "Anonymous A's allegation of massive paper frauds" will do for now FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 16:32, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- I recognize that this article was refined during the AFC process. As for the title, it is fine with me if a more natural one is given by a native English speaker. --研究倫理ルネッサンス (talk) 17:01, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- I think I might have figured out a more native-looking title yesterday. FMecha (to talk|to see log) 09:11, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Requested move 19 September 2022
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
It was proposed in this section that 2015 Japanese scientific misconduct allegations be renamed and moved somewhere else, with the name being decided below.
result: Move logs: source title · target title
This is template {{subst:Requested move/end}} |
Moved to Japanese scientific misconduct allegations. See consensus below to move away from the current title. The title chosen in accord with WP:OTHEROPTIONS has no actual consensus, so a new move request can be opened at any time if a better title emerges. Thanks and kudos to editors for your input; everyone stay healthy! P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'r there 04:24, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
2015 Japanese scientific misconduct allegations → ? – Originally submitted as "Anonymous A's allegation of massive paper frauds" (translation of it's jawiki title, 匿名Aによる論文大量不正疑義事件) from AFC, I moved it to the current one in hopes of a natural-sounding (by enwiki standards). However, prose suggests that the allegations were made before and after the year in the title. FMecha (to talk|to see log) 17:59, 19 September 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. - Weak oppose. My evaluation is the following: this article is primarily about the 2015 incident. I don't see a 2014 date from the scienceinjapan reference which confirms that
From the end of 2014 to the beginning of 2015, the anonymous accuser posted a thread on the Kondo's board
. The first newspapers reportings are all from January 2015. So I would initially lean 2015-2016. However, the 2016 scientific misconduct allegations, although similar, appear to be a separate incident from the 2015 ones. As a result, I think the better option would be to exclude the 2016 allegations from this article, add them to see also, and slap a good old "2016" in front of the article title of Ordinary_researchers, adding perhaps "scientific misconduct allegations" at the end. If there was more scientific misconduct in Japan in the past, perhaps a list article with all the incidents would also be warranted. Pilaz (talk) 16:45, 29 September 2022 (UTC)- No prejudice to merging both articles if people deem it better, though. Pilaz (talk) 16:47, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

- I changed the article. I wish you would reconsider this matter. --ディオ番 (talk) 06:11, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
- Move to Japanese scientific misconduct allegations but also merge in content from Ordinary_researchers, and expand to cover the whole topic. At the moment there doesn't seem to be enough material to justify having 2+ articles, what's in this article and Ordinary_researchers can easily be covered in one. Then it can also be expanded to cover the 2006 and 2013 allegations plus any others. If the article ends up growing significantly, or if tehre's a lot more to say about the 2014-15 incidents specifically, then we can think again at that point. — Amakuru (talk) 09:41, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Merger proposal
[edit]Formal request has been received to merge: Ordinary_researchers into Japanese_scientific_misconduct_allegations; dated: November 2022. Proposer's Rationale: This had been already discussed above by Amakuru. I edited Japanese_scientific_misconduct_allegations to include the contents in Ordinary_researchers. --品質保証部員 (talk) 12:38, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- @品質保証部員: it looks like you have already carried out the merge, so I've redirected Ordinary_researchers to Japanese_scientific_misconduct_allegations as per the discussion we had at the RM. — Amakuru (talk) 13:07, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
