Format
[edit]The awards would be better presented in a table format, like 2010 New Zealand Music Awards. —Andrewstalk 05:32, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
Kanye West Had Six Nominations
[edit]If you really feel the need to list him as having 11 nominations, pleas say that five were "as a featured artist on Katy Perry's E.T.", not that five were "featuring Katy Perry" as the article currently states. Furthermore, if we're including featured credits as nominations, Lady Gaga's already record breaking 13 nominations in 2010 would be 18, yet the article for the 2010 VMA's states she had 13 nominations, not 18. Please establish some sort of consistency. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.28.105.66 (talk) 18:03, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
Jennifer Lawrence
[edit]she's presenting the trailer for 'The Hunger Games' at the VMAs http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2011/08/23/hunger-games-footage-vmas/--98.226.9.223 (talk) 11:58, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Performers
[edit]Someone needs to clean this up and stick to the ref given which confirms the actual performers and not any rumoured ones. --94.14.1.49 (talk) 17:38, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
New format for wins
[edit]As I mentioned in my edit summary, I'm fine with the new format. However, whoever's behind it, PLEASE do it to all other VMA articles and not just this one, because otherwise this one will be changed back to the old format. I don't want it to be the only article of all 28 that is different from the rest. We need consistency. Andresg770 (talk) 01:57, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- I'll try to do it. Tony0106 (talk) 16:20, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
Best Direction
[edit]Best Direction went to the Beastie Boys, while Best Art Direction went to Adelle. The article needs to be properly updated to reflect this, Adelle is currently listed as winning both awards. Check: http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2011/winners.jhtml . — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.102.116.195 (talk) 11:32, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, the problem was that MTV's official press release had Adele listed as winning Best Direction, too: http://mtvpress.com/press/release/2011_vma_winners_announcement . The article is now listing the Beastie Boys as getting Direction, but MTV really needs to sort this issue out ASAP by editing either article... Andresg770 (talk) 14:11, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Its Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award
[edit]Is 'Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award' not 'Video Vanguard Award' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.32.87.203 (talk) 17:15, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- The "Michael Jackson" part of the award's name is more of a vanity thing that has been added to pay homage to MJ since 1988 when he won it, I think. However, in the official VMA history and winners database, all winners are listed as having gotten the Video Vanguard Award, as you can see here: http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/winners-by-category.jhtml . Thus, the name stays as such. Andresg770 (talk) 20:14, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Beyoncé's Pregnancy?
[edit]Is it not worth mentioning in the article? It's a pretty significant moment of this year's awards and has drummed up a lot of press. Angelic-alyssa (talk) 23:46, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- It is. At least in one line. Jivesh 1205 (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 09:33, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
