Notability
[edit]The notability guideline for events indicates that an event is "presumed to be notable if it receives significant, non-routine coverage that persists over a period of time" and appears in "multiple reliable sources with national or global scope". The coverage received by this blackout has been significant and non-routine, appearing in multiple reliable sources with global scope, but only time will tell whether the coverage will persist. The Reuters piece cited in the article hints at potential political implications for Pres. Pinera, but it is still too soon to tell. -- Black Falcon (talk) 20:48, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- The fact that we don't know if coverage will persist is exactly why we have a different set of guidelines for recent events, which this clearly does not meet. I'd suggest a nomination for AfD. JimSukwutput 22:34, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
