I added Floods in California#January 2017: California flood which I think is very relevant to an article that about drought in california. What do you think? Daniel.Cardenas (talk) 21:42, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

End of drought

[edit]

I changed the intro to indicate the drought in the past tense. There are plenty of references for most of California being out of drought like this one: http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-drought-gone-20170223-story.html Only a small portion of California is classified as being in drought according to U.S. drought monitor. The snowpack is 150% above normal and all of the major reservoirs are past full and spilling water. What do you think? Daniel.Cardenas (talk) 21:44, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it should be said as officially over until either a very small portion left of drought in California or the entire state is gone. Even with a supported ref like that, I think it is in my opinion borderline-WP:OR. --MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 23:04, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

La Nina?

[edit]

How did La Nina end the drought? I thought El Nino did?

El Nino didn't end the drought. If you were paying attention, and if you look up some articles, you'll see that there was actually a weak La Nina in place when the powerful storms were drenching California. However, the La Nina ended shortly this drought did. LightandDark2000 (talk) 13:31, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cause?

[edit]

Was climate change a significant factor in the cause for the drought? SirLladnar (talk) 16:54, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, it was. However, I think we need to organize different causes and factors to the drought comprehensively so that it might be clearer for readers to understand the cause.HyperDockDuet (talk) 17:00, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
