Column widths need attention
[edit]Surely there's a better way to proportion some of those widths: unless you hugely widen your window, some cells are light skyscrapers. To me, it's seriously dysfunctional. I don't know how to do it, but even if the tables themselves become a little wider in toto, that would be better than what is there now. Tony (talk) 03:13, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Discussion
[edit]There is a discussion going on here over the inclusion of Elżbieta Czyżewska in the "Notable deaths" section on the article. Comments are requested. BOVINEBOY2008 02:45, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Edit request 2
[edit]{{editrequest}} Under the events section, please can the following be added (from Feb 11 to 21):
- The 60th Berlin International Film Festival was held.
Thanks. Lugnuts (talk) 09:58, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
- Change made. Is this where you wanted it, or should it have gone after the entry that took place just on the 21st? If I misplaced it, please file another edit request. Nyttend (talk) 13:09, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
- It's fine there - thanks! Lugnuts (talk) 17:29, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Kids in America (Young Americans) title
[edit]The source indicates that the title of this film is Kids in America, not Young Americans. Why does this change keep getting reverted? 69.66.242.64 (talk) 05:52, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
- Bring it up at the article's page. If a film has an article, its going to be listed as that name on this page. BOVINEBOY2008 11:23, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Despicable Me
[edit]I noticed the totals for Despicable Me were (pardon the pun) grossly inaccurate, so I fixed the domestic totals per Box Office Mojo. It doesn't list UK or Australia, though, so someone who knows more than I will have to take care of it. 67.236.29.161 (talk) 20:22, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
type of genre
[edit]cant we add the type of movie it is behind the info or title so you can more easly check what you want ??? e,g Fantsy, scifi, horror, action. if this is already in can sombody point it out for me ??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.173.197.17 (talk) 21:29, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
- "Genre" is a pretty vague description of most movies these days. Some movies belong to so many that it's pointless to define them. 69.66.242.64 (talk) 12:23, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Though defining the "Genre" tough or vague nowadays, still it has got a larger use. some the the films fall under some major "genre" so that the films can be listed out there. It would be for a user to search something like, films released on 2010 by genre wise.... it would be pretty good to sort it still... this is my humble request.... - Paamaran from India. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.164.160.210 (talk) 17:58, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
Notable Deaths
[edit]I'm sure Charlie Sheen did not die in January. Did another irish actor named Charlie Sheen die or is it vandalism? Because the american actor is linked to it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.88.117.150 (talk) 05:55, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Notable films in deaths
[edit]I was wondering if there should be some sort of standard as to how many movies one needs to put down after an actor/actress passes? Looking over the list, I was a bit astounded by Dennis Hopper's list. Surely, four, or even five movie titles would have sufficed instead of putting a good portion of his movie resume on there.--Hourick (talk) 19:16, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
seriously?
[edit]Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is also in the Top 10 at #3, making 2010 the only year with 3 movies in the Top 10
seriously? did a 10 year old write this —Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.33.18.103 (talk) 12:54, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Should "2010 film" link directly to the "2010 (film)" page rather than this one?
[edit]It seems to me that a visitor searching for the phrase "2010 film" is much more likely to be searching for the motion picture "2010" rather than this topic. I submit that "2010 film" should point directly to "2010 (film)" and put a disambiguation linking to this topic from that page. MammonLord (talk) 00:03, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
I am condensing the dollar values in the highest grossing table per MOS:LARGENUM. Film community consensus also exists for these changes. Note the instructions at Template:Infobox film as well as this discussion. We don't know what Box Office Mojo's margin of error is and there is no specific need for this much precision. The specific MOS language that covers this is: Where explicit uncertainty is unavailable (or is unimportant for the article's purposes) round to an appropriate number of significant digits; the precision presented should usually be conservative. Precise values (often given in sources for formal or matter-of-record reasons) should be used only where stable and appropriate to the context, or significant in themselves for some special reason.

Why doesn't someone edit these pages according to this way; It is easier to understand it and it's more convenient also. I mean if both pages are edited according to these way (full appearance of the number gross at box office) someone else who reads it will understand easier in that way. So why doesn't someone edit these three pages in that way; — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.86.255.196 (talk) 18:09, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
- The version you want goes contrary to MOS:LARGENUM, although the current table format also has an issue with MOS:UNCERTAINTY.
- This is effectively the same discussion which already tool place at WT:FILMS in November, which resulted in the current structure - and which is now being discussed at Talk:2015 in film#Disagrreement and which appears to be leaning towards a refinement of the current format - thus eliminating the problems from both MOS concerns. I suggest discussing this at Talk:2015 in film#Disagrreement which can then provide a centralized discussion for all of these articles. --- Barek (talk • contribs) - 22:35, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
